How you’ll make an impact

The Head of Product Marketing Operations and Planning will be responsible for driving operational excellence across our product marketing workflows and processes that will support and increase collaboration with global and regional teams across Xero. This role will have ownership of key planning and operating models that allows Xero to communicate and deliver meaningful value to our customers in a more effective way.
It will be your responsibility to:

Provide visibility of defined customer facing initiatives across the business.
Ensure the right people - key stakeholders and initiative enablers - are engaged in a timely manner.
Enable the business to balance product  and customer readiness through a cross functional collaborative GTM process. 
Drive for strategic sequencing of initiatives  to maximise customer value.

You will also be responsible for helping our teams adopt and adhere to new tools and processes.

What you'll do

  • Lead and support a team of all star Product Marketing Operations Managers
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership on the design, management, governance, measurement and adoption of op and planning models created
  • Influence cross functional teams to ensure adoption of GTM practices across Xero
  • Lead EGM and XLT level reporting for the product marketing team, including weekly, monthly, quarterly status reports 
  • Drive the consultation, collaboration and engagement across the key impacted teams, including leadership buy-in, and engaging the change management team where appropriate
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of specific op models including the identification of  opportunities on small iterations where improvements are needed on existing processes etc
  • Pilot projects and operational requirements where required, to establish learnings prior to broader implementation
  • Unpack and rebuild workflows where needed for op models that Product Marketing Ops team look after,  or help consult/influence on other programs of work for other teams
  • Manage communications, education and training required to implement and maintain op models, maintaining accuracy of content in resources supporting this
  • Track stakeholder acceptance and process deployment effectiveness; and implement contingency plans as needed
  • Collaborate with your Operations peers - across product, customer, strategy and technology to plan the cadence of hiring to reach forecasted team sizes across cities. 
  • Remain up to date with relevant changes and trends in effective distributed team working practises, continually growing a knowledge of how they may impact and enhance ways of working, with the view to embed these practises across the portfolio
  • Support the PMLT to drive an operating rhythm that cultivates a fun, rewarding, diverse and results-driven culture that lives and breathes our Xero values

  • Previous marketing operations experience is essential 
  • Experience developing, running and maintaining marketing operational rhythm and artefacts to ensure cross functional alignment
  • Proven experience collaborating and building trust and effective working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes at a range of levels from individual contributor to executive level leader 
  • Experienced with managing confidential information with integrity and diplomacy
  • Strong skills in business delivery
  • 10+ years experience.
