Change.org is searching for a Head of Product Marketing to lead the strategy and execution to drive product engagement and growth. You will lead the advancement of Change.org's mission to empower people everywhere to create the change they want to see. You will build out the function and over time manage a team, directly reporting to the CMO.

We’re a social impact business (a public benefit company), and the world's largest social change platform with 100m monthly users, 50,000+ campaigns launched on the site every month, and a 100% user-generated revenue model. Our users win campaigns for change once every hour.

From mobilizing over 5 million people to investigate the fires in the Amazon, to mobilizing nearly 3 million against war and famine in Yemen, to large-scale mobilizations for the people of Iran and against the war in Ukraine, and calling for Racial Justice in the US, many movements were born on Change.org. Key Outcomes:

  • Increase product awareness: Identify opportunities for and successfully launch campaigns that make new and existing users aware of key product features. 
  • Increase Product Engagement: Improve user engagement, taking advantage of existing growth loops from mid to bottom of funnel.
  • Drive Product Growth: Develop and execute strategies to increase user acquisition and retention through innovative product features and marketing campaigns.
  • Engage in the Product Development process: Collaborate with product managers to contribute to the product development processes through research, strategy development, and go-to-market planning.

The most important skills and capabilities for the role are:

  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape and conduct data analysis to identify opportunities and threats, and to inform product positioning and strategy.
  • Product Positioning and Messaging: Develop clear and compelling product positioning and messaging strategy that differentiates the product in the market.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute go-to-market plans for new product launches and feature updates by partnering with product management and channel owners to ensure smooth execution to target audiences. 
    • Plan and execute marketing campaigns to drive product awareness, demand, and adoption. 
    • Monitor and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, using data to optimize future efforts.
  • Content Creation: Partner to create marketing collateral such as content, one pagers, case studies, and website content when needed.
  • Customer Insights and Feedback: Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and improvement. Act as the voice of the customer within the company to ensure that products meet customer needs.
  • Pricing Strategy: Where appropriate, develop and implement pricing strategies that maximize revenue and market share. Conduct pricing analysis and competitive benchmarking to ensure pricing aligns with market conditions.
  • Collaboration with Product Development: Work closely with product development teams to ensure that marketing requirements are incorporated into product design. Provide input on product features and enhancements based on market research and customer feedback.
  • Brand Management: Ensure that all product marketing activities are aligned with the company's brand strategy and guidelines. Promote brand consistency across all marketing channels and materials.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product marketing efforts. Prepare regular reports on product marketing performance and present findings to internal teams and C-team.

Target Experience:

  • 8+ Years in Marketing/Product Role:  Combined experience in a product and/or operationally-focused marketing and/or product role with a heavy emphasis on growth strategy.
  • Proven experience in product marketing in consumer technology
  • 8+ years of marketing experience with an at-scale B2C product 
  • Dozens of B2C lifecycle and product marketing experiments tested, iterated on, launched
  • Go-to-market planning experience for multiple products
  • Substantial experience selling products and services directly to clients
  • Strong understanding of the mobile app market 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives and effectively present ideas
  • Ability to use insights, data, and statistical analyses to drive marketing decisions and optimize campaigns
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate optimally at all levels of the organization

We’re currently able to support staff based in the following US locations: AZ, CA, GA, IA, MD, MA, MO, NJ, NY, NC, PA, RI, TX, VT, WA. We're also able to support staff in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada (AB, BC, ON), France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Our compensation philosophy is based on pay equity. All of our salaries are defined before we launch a role – they are based on a predetermined salary scale, the level on that scale and the cost of labor for that location. The annual salary of a Head of Product Marketing is $200,000 in San Francisco, CA and New York, NY; $190,000 in Austin, TX, Boston, MA, Los Angeles, CA, Seattle, WA, and DC, and $170,00 for all other US locations
