Location: San Francisco - Hybrid (M, T, TH)

At Productboard, we fundamentally believe that the world's best products are created by product makers who possess an exceptionally deep understanding of their customers' needs. Whether they are Product Managers, Designers, or Engineers, the brightest minds behind the most successful and beloved products are those who truly embody their customers.

We’re entering a once-in-a-generation shift in product management — and Productboard is poised to lead it. As we build the world’s first AI-first product management platform, we need a Head of Product Marketing to craft and amplify a bold new narrative that reflects where our industry is going — and Productboard’s role in shaping that future.

In this role, you’ll be the strategic owner of our product marketing function. You’ll define how we bring our AI vision to life across messaging, positioning, launches, competitive strategy, and go-to-market enablement. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our AI roadmap — including major initiatives like Pulse and Launchpad — lands with clarity, urgency, and excitement in the market.

This is a rare opportunity to lead product marketing during a period of transformation. You’ll operate at the intersection of product, go-to-market, and executive leadership — and help establish Productboard as the go-to platform for modern, AI-powered product teams.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead company and product-level messaging, with a focus on our AI vision and transformation
  • Translate complex product capabilities into compelling, differentiated stories that resonate with PMs, buyers, and the broader market
  • Own product launches and positioning for new and existing products
  • Partner with product managers and data analysts to define and track success metrics for product launches, messaging effectiveness, and sales enablement - using data to continuously improve GTM performance and drive pipeline, adoption, and revenue impact
  • Lead buyer persona development and customer/market research to inform positioning and reveal growth opportunities
  • Track the competitive landscape, define key differentiators, and evolve our positioning
  • Equip Sales, Marketing, and CS with compelling decks, battlecards, and messaging
  • Act as a public-facing voice through events, customer conversations, and thought leadership
  • Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing product marketing team

About you

  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role at a B2B SaaS company
  • You’re a compelling storyteller who can translate product capabilities into strategic narratives that elevate the brand and drive pipeline
  • You’ve led product marketing in a high-growth B2B SaaS company, ideally with experience in developer, AI, or product-led growth tools
  • You have a strong grasp of product management personas, workflows, and challenges — and are excited about helping PMs become 10x operators
  • You’re comfortable toggling between strategic planning and hands-on execution in a lean, fast-paced environment
  • You’ve successfully launched AI or technical products to market, and understand how to differentiate in a noisy, fast-evolving space
  • You’re deeply collaborative, with a track record of aligning product, design, sales, and marketing around a common vision
  • You combine sharp intuition with a strong bias for action — and you hold yourself accountable for delivering commercial results

What’s in it for you?

  • Be part of building the world’s first and best Product Management Platform that fundamentally changes how our industry approaches the craft of Product Management.
  • Be a part of a growing and innovative, mission-driven company, with the opportunity to shape the future of our product and customer experience, and to define an entire new market category.
  • Collaborate with a talented and passionate team, dedicated to making products that matter, together.

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $189,000 - $235,000. In addition to the base pay, this role is eligible for competitive equity awards and benefits.
Productboard's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Why You'll Love Working Here:

  • Be part of building the world’s first and best Product Platform that fundamentally changes how our industry approaches the craft of Product Management.
  • Opportunity to impact the trajectory of a high-growth product organization.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture with smart, innovative colleagues.
  • Competitive salary and benefits, including stock options.

You can look forward to the following benefits:

  • Competitive compensation, stock options, company 401k
  • A budget for your professional development and ongoing learning
  • Flexible PTO and paid sick days
  • Life insurance and disability coverage
  • Carrot Fertility Benefits
  • 1 Volunteer Day per year for you to help causes close to your heart
  • 8 weeks of Paternity leave and 12 weeks of Maternity leave
  • Mental Wellness Program to support your well-being and self-care
  • Company contribution to gym and wellness memberships
  • Commuter benefits
  • Company contribution and access to best-in-class health benefits and your own Soulmio membership
  • Hone – Live, interactive learning programs for managers, leaders, and teams
