FeedbackFruits is on a mission to enhance education through innovative technology, making learning more engaging and interactive for students and educators alike. Our suite of pedagogical tools is used by over 200 institutions worldwide, impacting millions of courses and students. We focus on promoting active learning and equitable access through our user-friendly solutions, ensuring that every learner benefits from high-quality educational experiences.

Currently, we are looking for a Head of Product Design in our team who will drive the strategic vision for product design here at FeedbackFruits.

The impact you'll have in this role:

As the Head of Product Design, you will lead and work alongside a small, talented design team to shape the user experience of FeedbackFruits’ products. This role blends leadership with hands-on design work, ensuring that our platform meets the diverse needs of educators and learners. You will champion modular design principles, create intuitive and extensible user interfaces, and optimize for integrated workflows to support our mission of empowering learning designers.

Job Responsibilities:

Design Vision & Strategy

  • Define and communicate a clear, forward-thinking design vision that aligns with FeedbackFruits’ mission and product strategy.

  • Develop a modular design system to maximize the reuse of components and functionality, enabling scalability and engineering efficiency while supporting a composable learning design platform.

  • Balance simplicity and extensibility in the platform’s design, ensuring usability for “late majority” users while showcasing advanced capabilities for “early adopters.”

  • Optimize the user experience for LMS-integrated workflows, ensuring seamless and intuitive interactions for embedded users.

  • Make strategic design decisions, considering the costs, risks, and benefits of redesigns, while prioritizing sustainable improvements to maintain high NPS scores.

    Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small design team, fostering a culture of innovation, respect, and feedback.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and other teams to ensure cohesive design implementation across the product lifecycle.

  • Provide constructive feedback during design reviews, aligning team efforts with the overarching product vision.

  • Advocate for design excellence across the organization, embedding user-centric principles into all stages of product development.

    Hands-On Contribution

  • Actively participate in the design process, including creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

  • Conduct user testing and validation alongside the team, refining designs based on user feedback.

  • Contribute directly to the development of scalable, intuitive interfaces and modular design systems.

  • Work with Engineering and QA teams to ensure seamless translation of designs into the final product.

    Innovation & User-Centered Design

  • Champion user-centered design practices, integrating user research and iterative feedback to address real-world needs and pain points.

  • Drive innovation by experimenting with new ideas, tools, and approaches to enhance the platform’s user experience.

  • Enhance the platform’s usability for users in LMS-integrated contexts, ensuring an intuitive and effective experience for users in both standalone and embedded interfaces.

  • Continuously refine design processes to increase efficiency, collaboration, and impact.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, tools, and best practices, incorporating them into the team’s work to maintain a cutting-edge design approach.

Your experience:

Scale-ups provide phenomenal learning and development opportunities but sometimes it feels like you’re “building the plane while flying the plane”. You must derive energy from such a climate and don’t mind redesigning for continuous growth, feeling comfortable with some uncertainty.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in product design, including at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role, ideally within EdTech or SaaS environments.

  • Proven experience with modular design systems and scalable interface design for complex platforms.

  • Demonstrated success in setting and executing a design vision that drives product innovation and aligns with strategic goals.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating hands-on design work, user research, and validation projects.

  • Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar platforms, and a deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of aligning teams around strategic design goals.

  • Experience balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution, ideally within EdTech or SaaS environments.

  • A passion for education technology and a commitment to improving learning experiences through thoughtful, impactful design.

Benefits

  • Annual salary between €85K - €110K

  • Hybrid work schedule (let’s work together, how you work best).

  • 25 paid holidays per year.

  • A day off for your birthday.

  • Advantageous pension scheme.

  • 3 days of volunteering leave per year.

  • €550 Learning & Development budget per year, along with 3 days paid leave for learning purposes.

  • Travel allowance and Swapfiets subscription.

  • Free access to the office gym.

  • Unlimited access to mental health support with OpenUp service.
