Head of Product Design

As our Product and teams grow, we’re excited to hire a Leader of our Product Design practice - that’s where you come in.

Design the team that designs Bubble! We’re looking for a leader in Product Design to own, drive, and execute on a product design function for Bubble’s next stage of growth. This person would report to our VP of Product, and manage a team of 5 product designers. They would work closely with our PMs and Engineering teams to build a strategic vision for Bubble’s product, design and design system. They would have cultivated their craft as an expert hands-on designer, and their leadership style as a people leader in previous roles.

As our Head of Product Design, you will:

• Lead, grow, and mentor a skilled, diverse team of designers
• Inspire and grow the design team to bring the Bubble product to the next phase, balancing current and future users, as well as current and future priorities
• Set a high bar for design craft - through setting up processes (like critiques, UX principles and reviews), and defining and implementing design strategy, all while being a voice for our users
• Be a critical partner in all stages of product strategy, working tightly with the product management and engineering organizations
• Collaborate with leaders across Product and Engineering to ensure we are executing well on our day-to-day work while also planning well for the future
• Encourage collaboration within the product design team and between design, PM, and engineering
• Lead or oversee our efforts to develop and optimize a design system
• Work with Product and Leadership to identify proposals towards Bubble’s business objectives e.g. making Bubble a more enjoyable and intuitive tool to use, improving in-product user onboarding, increasing user conversion rates, etc. 
  
  

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has 10+ years’ experience in product design and a strong portfolio of end-to-end product design projects rolled out to users
• Has 4+ years’ experience leading people and teams
• Has worked in a product org, in the typical “triangle” with Engineers and Product Managers
• Is process-oriented - as the role will oversee the processes on the Design team - but also vision-oriented - as the role will help us imagine the future of our product
• Has prior experience with design of a creation tool or SaaS product is heavily preferred
• Is passionate about user experience and empowering users to build no-code applications
• Has strong attention to details (to the pixel)
• Is very organized when building complex sites/web apps
• Experience with Bubble is a plus, but it can be learned

We offer competitive compensation aligned to tier one markets, such as New York City, San Francisco, and Seattle. Our estimated salary for this role at Bubble ranges from $160,000 to $240,000. Actual pay is determined by multiple factors such as skills, qualifications, experience and market demand.

In addition, all Bubble employees are eligible for meaningful equity packages.
