Your mission

BlaBlaCar has been evolving over the past years from one vertical product with carpooling to an OTA and aims to become the leading OTA for ground transport (Carpool, Bus, and Train) in all our markets. To lead that transition within our product experience, we’re looking for a Head of Product Design to lead and manage our team of talented product designers (8 people). Your mission will be to define the design strategy, enhance our user experience, and ensure the delivery of stunning and performing products.

You’ll report directly to the VP of Product & Design. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Management, Product Marketing, Engineering, and Marketing to support the overall strategy through impactful design solutions.

The scope includes the full spectrum of BlaBlaCar products: BlaBlaCar app, BlaBlaCar Daily (commuting), BlaBlaCar Zen (short-distance), and internal tools (e.g. Customer Support or Bus driver boarding).

Your responsibilities

Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of product designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative working environment.
Provide guidance on design methodologies and best practices and ensure the team's professional development.
Develop and articulate a compelling design vision aligned with the overall product and business strategy.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business goals and user needs, ensuring design solutions are aligned with strategic objectives.
Work closely with Content, Research, and Localization to gather feedback and inform design decisions
Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration between design and other departments.
Drive the creation of exceptional and intuitive user experiences through effective UX and UI design.
Oversee the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring high-quality and consistent design standards.
Own PIXAR, our design system, to ensure product consistency, and scalability for future initiatives, and to respond to user feedback and emerging design trends.
Advocate for the value of design in achieving business goals.

Your qualifications

Proven experience (10+ years) in a leadership role within product design, preferably in the online travel, e-commerce, or marketplace industry.
Strong portfolio demonstrating successful design solutions and strategy implementation.
Expertise in UX/UI design principles and methodologies.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in an agile development environment.
Full working proficiency in English.
