Head of Design

EvenUp is looking for its first Head of Design. Reporting to our VP of Product & Design, this person will play a crucial role in shaping the future of all EvenUp products. This is a director-level opportunity for someone who leads with conviction and with empathy for users. Our Head of Design will elevate EvenUp’s design function by setting high standards in design excellence and advocating for the business case behind each design direction. 

What you'll do:

• Run a design functionthat builds highly functional, efficient, and delightful products for external customers and internal users.

• Hire, retain and develop a world class product design team; ensure your team deeply understands the intricacies of complex legal workflows.

• Foster a strong, collaborative and human-centered design culture that pushes the frontier of human-AI interfaces.

• Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and leadership to shape the future of the EvenUp platform.

• Oversee multiple projects and scale design resources accordingly, ensuring development is fast, product quality is high, and team members are set up for success with clear goals.

• Own a small but strategic set of IC projects which will keep your leadership close to the craft and rooted in the needs of the customer.

What we look for:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree and 10+ years of work experience in software product design.

• 3+ years of product design people management experience, managing a team of at least 5.

• Significant experience in and passion for B2B software.

• Significant experience in and passion for human-AI interfaces and workflows.

• Significant experience in and passion for designing tools for internal operators, as well as external customers.

• Expertise in effectively communicating design solutions to all audiences, inclusive of executive leadership.

• Ability to deeply understand business goals and outcomes by leveraging the use of data analytics, user testing, and research to inform and validate design decisions.

• (A plus) experience managing user research.
