About the role
We're looking for a Head of Design for Cryptowatch, our expansive multi-market trading and community platform.This leader will be responsible for mentoring and managing designers and other managers who oversee our desktop native, web, and mobile design teams.The Cryptowatch product has been traditionally designed for trading functionality and performance, and more recently has turned to a larger consumer audience via our native mobile community.This Head of Design will be tasked with navigating the evolution of Cryptowatch from a niche trading product into a retail-friendly community engagement platform.

Responsibilities
- Oversee a product design vision for Cryptowatch that brings cohesion across platforms and within the Kraken brand
- Facilitate internal design reviews that uphold a high standard for approval and feedback
- Regularly present and assess the impact of design outcomes to leadership and stakeholders
- Manage and mentor the design team, creating a positive, forward-focused environment
- Oversee and assess the collective output of design resourcing relative to product and engineering growth
- Establish and reinforce a creative vision for Cryptowatch that aligns with near and long-term product goals
- Communicate the impact of design across product teams while facilitating cross-functional collaboration amongst working groups
- Recruit, hire, and evangelize an excellent team of product designers for a distinct audience
Requirements
- Proven track record of leading multiple high performing teams of designers
- Excellent presentation and communication skills that connect with an external audience
- Strong ability to translate business and product needs into actionable plans
- Experience facilitating ideation and participatory design workshops
- Highly adept at motivating others to perform their best work
- Thrives in a fast-faced, iterative environment, ensuring stakeholders and team members are on the same page
