📍Remote UK | 💰 £85,000 to £105,000 + Benefits | Product at Monzo

About us:

We’re here to make money work for everyone and we're doing things differently. For too long, banking has been obtuse, complex and opaque.

We want to change that and build a bank with everyone, for everyone. Our amazing community suggests features, test the app and give us constant feedback so we can build something everyone loves.

We're focused on solving problems, rather than selling financial products. We want to make the world a better place and change people's lives through Monzo.

About our Borrowing Growth Team:

The Borrowing Growth team sits within our Borrowing Collective. They’re responsible for helping more Monzo customers meet their borrowing needs through the continued growth of our loan and overdraft products. They use experimentation, new channels and marketing to achieve this, while ensuring we lend responsibly and in line with our borrowing principles

What you’ll be doing:

This is a Growth Product Manager role. Growth squads work a little differently to product-building squads - they’re fast, highly data-driven, and usually focused on short-term results. They’ll usually be growing an existing product rather than building a new product from scratch.

  • You’ll lead a cross-functional team to develop and deliver a growth strategy to accelerate the growth of Monzo loans and overdrafts. You’ll do this by building a deep understanding of customer needs, distribution channels, funnel conversion, growth levers and new opportunity areas.
  • You’ll set clear goals and track progress against targets. This doesn’t mean growth at all costs: you’ll continually identify and balance trade-offs by identifying and monitoring health metrics - including the credit risk of applicants, impacts on customer sentiment, or on other parts of the Monzo customer experience.
  • You’ll communicate effectively with people of all levels of seniority. You’ll get people inspired by the product vision and you’ll share the right context with the right people at the right time.
  • You’ll lead planning processes and associated roadmap prioritisation to get your team working on the highest impact priorities that contribute to wider business goals.
  • You’ll work iteratively and collaboratively with design, engineering, research, data science, product marketing, compliance and many others to refine your plan and execute against it effectively.
  • You’ll help to shape growth and product strategy across Monzo by sharing insights from your work.

Your day-to-day

  • Leading a workshop with your team to hypothesise new experiments you could run
  • Ideating with engineers and designers on different approaches to improving the loans introduction page
  • Presenting your newest experiment to stakeholders at Product Review and gathering feedback and challenge
  • Speaking to the Compliance team to understand the regulations around promoting our borrowing products
  • Joining research calls to better understand where in the journey customers get stuck

You should apply if:

  • You’ve grown world-class products at a fast growing company, ideally working as a Growth Product Manager.
  • It’s great if you have experience working with borrowing products like loans, overdrafts or credit cards, but it’s not essential.
  • You’re passionate about building great products for customers and not just achieving business results.
  • You’re data driven, passionate about metrics, and intellectually honest about how your work is performing -- and driven to continuously improve it.
  • You’re creative, opportunistic, and love working as part of a fast, iterative team.
  • You’re full of novel ideas and creative solutions, and able to tease them out of others too.
  • You’re comfortable spanning the worlds of design, data, user research, marketing and engineering.
  • You can work effectively with a diverse range of people and working styles to get stuff done, and are able to thoughtfully and constructively challenge and influence the people you work with.
  • What we’re doing here at Monzo excites you!
