The Role:
Backstage is seeking an experienced Growth Product Designer to conceptualize and execute marketing and UI design in support of multiple brands under the Backstage umbrella, including Sharegrid, Coverfly, Final Draft, and FilmFreeway. As a shared resource across entities, you will be working closely with Backstage’s Director of Product Design and the executive teams to create solutions that meet the unique needs of each brand and product. As our Growth Product Designer, you will be creating and improving upon landing pages, checkout flows, and creative assets for marketing campaigns, and designing UI enhancements to support product initiatives. You will work with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, and will rely heavily on both qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions. You should excel at transforming ideas into effective product and marketing features that meet product and style guidelines. As you will predominantly be working independently  across multiple brands, you must be very organized with excellent project  management skills. 

The Growth Product Designer will report to Backstage’s Director of Product Design.

What You'll Do:

  • Generate marketing assets for emails, newsletters, landing pages, checkout flows, and social channels to support growth initiatives for Backstage companies, including ShareGrid, Coverfly, Final Draft, and FilmFreeway
  • Create new and/or updated UI components that help evolve the product and the design system/style guide behind it
  • Leverage user experience data to identify and improve key areas on the platforms
  • Partner with Marketing and Growth teams to create solutions for improving conversions and retention
  • Synthesize customer data into meaningful insights that represent user perspectives and prioritize their needs
  • Create user flows, mockups, and prototypes for a wide spectrum of use cases across different devices
  • Oversee creative direction of platforms by evolving and standardizing brand and messaging guidelines

What we're looking for from you:

  • Proven experience contributing to the design of a large scale, consumer-facing website and/or app; agency experience or experience working across multiple brands a plus
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative research methods and methodologies to support product design decisions
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm to work on diverse projects ranging from email templates to UI design
  • Empathy and passion for solving problems by creating clear and accessible solutions for complex user flows; experience working closely with product managers to ideate new features and determine product scope
  • Solid understanding how to design effective growth-centric marketing components and visuals 
  • Skilled in designing within the constraints of, while also evolving, established design systems and style guides
  • Advanced proficiency with design tools like Figma/Sketch,Whimsical/Miro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign, and workflow tools like Jira or Trello
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience designing products for mobile (mobile browsers and iOS apps)
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills; ability to shift gears quickly and attack a multitude of diverse projects at once

  • The base compensation range for this position is $90K-$130K annually. Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs.
