Grindr is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Product Manager for Trust and Safety to join our dedicated team. In this key role, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the Trust and Safety aspects of our platforms. You will lead a team of talented professionals and drive initiatives that ensure a secure and enjoyable user experience for our community.

What’s the job?

  • Leadership and Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of existing direct reports, providing guidance and support to achieve team goals. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity and promotes innovation.
  • Trust and Safety Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive Trust and Safety strategy that aligns with Grindr's overall mission and values. Continuously evaluate and update safety protocols to address evolving challenges and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Platform Integrity: Implement measures to detect and prevent fraudulent activities, spam, and other malicious behaviors on the platform. Oversee content moderation to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for all users.  
  • User Support and Education: Collaborate with Customer Support teams to address user concerns related to safety and privacy effectively. Develop educational materials and resources to empower users to protect their safety online.
  • Product Development and Enhancement: Collaborate closely with Engineering and Design teams to implement features and enhancements that bolster Trust and Safety. Conduct regular audits of existing features to identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to identify patterns, trends, and potential risks, translating them into actionable strategies. Prepare regular reports for stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and progress.

What we’ll love about you

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager or similar role, with a focus on Trust and Safety within a mobile/web platform environment.
  • Previous experience in managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of LGBTQ+ issues, with a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive online community.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make data-informed decisions.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, privacy laws, and best practices.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for Grindr's mission and a dedication to creating a safe and positive user experience.

We’ll really swoon if you have

  • Experience with global products across different markets, cultures, and languages.
  • Strong design aesthetic with an understanding of what makes a strong user experience.
  • Experience partnering with user researchers and working with qualitative data.
  • Handy with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Testflight, spreadsheets, whiteboards, post-its, zoom, phone calls, IRC.
  • Experience with dating, social, communication, or chat apps/services.
  • Experience in growth-focused teams driven by experimentation and rapid iteration.

Grindr is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role will also be eligible for equity, benefits, and a company bonus program.
