Company Description

Etsy is the global marketplace for unique and creative goods. We build, power, and evolve the tools and technologies that connect entrepreneurs with buyers around the world. Etsy, Inc.'s 'house of brands' portfolio has expanded to now include four individually distinct ecommerce brands -- Etsy, fashion resale marketplace Depop, musical instrument marketplace Reverb, and Brazil-based handmade goods marketplace Elo7. As an Etsy employee, you'll tackle unique problems alongside talented coworkers committed to Keeping Commerce Human. We're large enough that you'll focus on meaningful, complex challenges, but small enough that you can make a rewarding impact.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Product Leader who will lead our two platform product groups focused on improving the Etsy engineering experience, optimizing the development lifecycle, and building tools and platforms that make building software at Etsy fast and fun!

Enablement at Etsy is the horizontal group that supports internal teams. We build the platforms and tools for Data Science, Experimentation, Marketing, and Personalization, and our infrastructure is used by every engineering team. We measure our successes with adoption, reliability, and developer velocity, and we are always looking ahead to be the foundation for innovation and growth.

As the Group PM, Product Enablement, you will lead a growing team of PMs who are focused on internal engineers and data scientists as customers, learning how they get their work done, and providing the tools they need to be productive. This role requires an understanding of the developer experience, and the ability to manage and direct a team of PMs to solve for the most critical needs of internal users. Do you find joy in leading PMs, partnering closely with engineering leaders and ICs, and driving business success from the foundation? If so, this could be the perfect match.

This is a full time position reporting to the Director, Data & Product Enablement. We are considering remote candidates based in the United States for this position. Etsy offers three different work modes to meet the variety of needs and preferences of our team: Flex mode for those who are comfortable traveling to an office location 6 times per month, Remote mode, and Office-based mode. Learn more about our flexible work modes and vaccination policy here.

In this role you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow the Product Enablement team of PMs
  • Represent the Product Enablement space with senior Product and Tech leadership, including the development and presentation of metrics/OKRs and strategy reviews
  • Pair closely with the Director(s) of Engineering to identify strategies and priorities for the 8+ engineering squads
  • Spend time with Etsy product engineers, scientists, and product managers to understand the software development experience, and dig into where things are working and where they aren't
  • Collaborate closely with teammates based out of Dublin, IE and Brooklyn, NY
  • Of course, this is just a sample of the kinds of work this role will require! You should assume that your role will encompass other tasks, too, and that your job duties and responsibilities may change from time to time at Etsy's discretion, or otherwise applicable with local law.

Qualifications

Ideally you'll bring:

  • 7+ Years of Product Management experience across technical products or internal platforms, including delivering on complex, multi-year initiatives
  • At least 3 years leading and developing Product Managers
  • An ability to forge strong relationships with senior engineering leaders, to be their trusted partner in delivering amazing products
  • A collaborative style that ensures product strategy finds the right balance of moving fast and considering different perspectives
  • Experience applying success metrics to internal platforms and tooling, demonstrating value and success both quantitatively and qualitatively
  • A trust in and commitment to Etsy’s vision, mission and values.

Nice to have (but not required):

  • An engineering background
