As a Group Product Manager, you will lead a team of passionate Product Managers at Atlassian Data Centre, you will advance our mission to unleash the potential in every team by driving key elements of our enterprise strategy for products like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket! You will focus on one or more of our internal delivery pillars for Data Centre. Scaling our products to deliver performance, high availability, flexible deployment on premise or in the cloud, and centralised control across the Atlassian suite of products.
Define the foundations for how teams connect, collaborate, and accomplish outstanding things. Do you want your work to impact thousands of customers including some of the leaders in their industries, now and for the next decade?
More about you:
You love working hard to make products as amazing as possible for customers. You have prior success setting product vision and strategy and launching excellent products. Effective in inspiring a team through setting clear goals, making decisions, and communicating crisply to all audiences. You’ve got charisma in spades: you’re social and adept at building relationships across product lines and functional groups to make sure we are all on the same page.

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Be at the forefront of how Atlassian helps some of the largest companies in the world continue to succeed and grow
  • Build customer trust in how all our Data Center products work at very large scales; stability, scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap spanning multiple teams and products, working closely with other product managers, product teams and leadership
  • Join a leadership triad, and grow into managing Product Managers
  • Plan and execute product improvements and initiatives that balance requirements gathered from customers, market analysis, broader company strategy and resource constraints
  • Manage the roadmap, backlog and incoming feature requests across two dedicated engineering teams and all Data Center products, as well as define success metrics
  • Contribute to customer growth and existing customers' retention through a combination of innovation and well planned enhancements, and solving for the global optimum across all of Atlassian
  • Form relationships with engineers, designers, support and other customer-facing teams on delivering outstanding solutions to tricky problems
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of the industry to ensure that we build today what our customers will want to use tomorrow
  • Work on products in huge and very competitive markets, addressing customer needs across the entire spectrum, from small teams to massive enterprises.

On your first day we’ll expect you to have:

  • Extensive product management experience, ideally at a fast-growing software company
  • Leading a team of product managers achieve their best
  • Significant experience defining and launching features that solve problems for customers
  • You are customer centric, and enjoy working directly with design and engineering to ship delightful products
  • Strong in prioritising among opportunities, balancing the needs of our customers with those of our business, and clearly communicate the rationale behind your decisions
  • Ability to paint a compelling vision to inspire your teams and senior stakeholders
  • Good instincts matched with deep analytical thinking. Comfortable defining and tracking key business and success metrics
  • An effective relationship builder and are able to influence without authority

It's great, but not required, if you have:

  • BS/BA with an emphasis in technology, IT or operations; Masters or MBA preferred
  • Experience with building out infrastructure at scale, including AWS, Docker, Azure
  • Experience working on enterprise-focused areas (B2B)
  • Previous experience in the fields of project management, collaboration, and enterprise software.
About the team
Atlassian’s Data Center products are self-managed versions of our world-leading agile collaboration tools, built for the enterprise. Working as a Data Center Product Manager means working with and improving the experience of thousands of fascinating customers including Airbnb, NASA, Cisco, eBay and Toyota! Helping unleash the potential of millions of users. Product Managers at Atlassian are responsible for the complete product offering in collaboration with every other function, from early-stage research and ideation, through implementation and iteration based on key success metrics.

We work with some of the biggest companies in the world who use our products at incredible scale to do remarkable things. But as with all software, there are limits. One of our biggest shared challenges - and a significant strategic focus for us in FY22/23 - is how customers can continue to grow their usage of Atlassian’s products confidently for years to come, without running into unexpected performance or reliability issues.

To support you at work (and play) we offer some fantastic perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, flexible working options, five paid volunteer days a year for your favourite cause, an annual allowance to support your learning & growth, unique ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years and lots more.
