How should global money work? How do you take a complex, stressful experience and make it simple, calming even? How do you challenge the way it’s always been done?
How do you support designers and teams to ship work they’re truly proud of?
These are just a few of the challenges a Group Content Design Lead will get to work on as part of Wise’s global mission to build an open, fair, and human financial system. Right now we move over £6 billion every month for over 11 million people. But we're only 2% done — because people without borders deserve money without borders.
Your mission:
You’ll be leading designers of all crafts, working across the cross-functional teams that make up Receive — a squad that helps millions of people and businesses get paid in any currency, wherever they are.
Here’s how you’ll be contributing:
- Collaborating with your design, product, and engineering partners to lead the squad, set the vision, define strategy and coach the teams to deliver it
- Planning and prioritising the work, hiring and onboarding new designers as needed
- Working on the highest impact projects in the squad, and setting the direction and ambition for upcoming work
- Working with design leaders from other squads to build a single, seamless experience for customers
- Using your design leadership skills to level up quality, maturity and alignment across the Receive squad.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Support and grow a talented design team — and be the best lead they’ve ever had
- Guide teams to deliver impact and ship work you’re proud of
- Be hands on, leading through the work and setting the bar
- Elevate product and content quality — you define what good looks like in the squad, then help them deliver it.
- Be part of a positive change in the world. We’re fixing a broken, greedy system, and putting people and businesses in control of their money.
About you:
- You’re an accomplished content design leader with several years experience leading teams to ship world-class consumer products.
- You’re comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity — and can successfully lead groups in this environment.
- You have an eye for quality, and know how to support designers and teams to deliver it
- You’re influential and inspiring, able to lead others in a culture that values autonomy and empowerment
- You’re highly empathetic, both to customers and the people you work with
- You’re a trusted partner, building effective relationships with your peers across the business.
What do we offer:
Key benefits:
- Flexible working - whether it’s working from home, school plays or life admin we get that flexibility is essential and you’re trusted to do the right thing and be responsible
- Paid annual holiday, sick days, parental leave and other leave opportunities
