VEED.IO is an online video editing platform that makes creating videos easy and accessible to everyone. Millions of creators around the world use our products to tell stories, create content, grow their audience and more (hey, you might even know some of them!)

We're at a super interesting stage right now: 18 months ago we had no staff and no money, and now things are going pretty well. We're at $6M ARR, 40+ people, and we're one of the most popular video editors in the world. As our userbase grows, so does our talented team — we'd love for you to be a part of that journey.

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to help us build a livestreaming product from the ground up.

At VEED, we have a simple mission: making creative storytelling with video simple and accessible for everyone. That's why we're shifting from building "just" a video editor to building a suite of tools that allow anyone to make great videos.

One of the areas we're betting big on is livestreaming. Why? Every kid — and every company — wants to be a streamer these days, but creating a professional-looking stream is still incredibly difficult and time-consuming. It feels a bit like photo editing before Instagram launched — it's slow, painful, and you need a lot of knowledge to get started. On top of that, people often want to edit and publish their streams afterwards, and current streaming solutions don't offer that. A lot of people actually use VEED for this, so we know we can bring our tool to a large audience, instantly.

Do you want to help build the video tools of the future? This is your chance.

• In this role you will design and research livestreaming and build a new tool from the ground up. We believe that design is the differentiator in this product — there are a lot of tools out there already, but they're all confusing and super hard to use. Just like with our editor, we think that making this simple will change the game.
• If you're excited about building tools that help people tell their story, if you don't mind working a little scrappy, if you like to design based on vision, talking to users and data, we would love to talk to you ?
• We're only just getting started — right now is a great time to join us. You'll be one of the first few designers here, so you can grow along with our company and make a massive impact. Imagine if you were one of the first designers at Figma — this is like that.

Requirements

The most important thing is that you are passionate about what we're building! If you're excited about the opportunity, but don't fit all of the criteria here, please reach out.

• You're a generalist designer. We’re pretty early-stage, which means we're looking for people who enjoy the entire design process. You have to be comfortable in ambiguous environments and designing many different things.
• You're a team player. We work in multi-disciplinary teams — you'll work with a group of super-talented PMs, designers, engineers and researchers. Together you'll have to solve really complex problems, so you need to communicate well and be able to have good discussions with domain experts.
• You're a learner. No week is the same here at VEED, and we're all constantly learning as we go. You have to be infinitely curious and excited about figuring stuff out with us. As we're building the product, we'll probably get some things wrong here and there. That's all good, as long as we learn from them.
• You have a proven track record. We're a young company and at this stage, we need people that have been through this before. You've worked on successful products, and made them even better.
• Bonus points if you’ve worked on something that is in some way similar: like a photo editor or a product that involves storytelling.
