Founding Product Designer

As the old adage goes, "If you ship a feature but no customer hears about it...did the feature really ship?"

At Makelog, we're on a mission to help companies better communicate product changes to their customers and internal stakeholders. Today, sharing what ships is incredibly inefficient- especially for the fastest moving teams. The world's most successful companies realize that shipping velocity can't outpace communication velocity.

We're looking for a Founding Designer to voice and reimagine the way companies communicate product changes! In this role, you'll be designing new products and features to help customers reach goals both big and small, and helping us shape an exceptional user experience for a brand new category.

This is an Individual Contributor position with potential to grow into a management role as we scale.

As Founding Product Designer you will:

• Create intuitive, delightful modern user interfaces that guide users through a new way of communicating their changes

• Be the voice of the customer by collaborating with our team on performing user research, extracting insights from user interviews to identify gaps and opportunities in their user experience, and designing solutions

• Create wireframes, mocks and prototypes to validate with users, align our team, and clarify technical requirements

What you bring:

• Experience as a Product Designer and comfort with interaction and visual design

• A portfolio that showcases digital products you've designed from start to finish

• An intuition for well designed software and beautiful, usable interfaces

• Intrinsic curiosity and motivation to solve difficult problems for customers

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

You’ll be a great fit if you:

• Have several years of UX/UI experience in-house at a B2B/SaaS software company

• Are skilled at research, user experience, visual design, and interaction design

• Have a knack for collaborating and communicating effectively with software engineers and technical users

• Can enable rapid iteration within our product development team

• Experience working efficiently with modern design tools like Figma

• An open and growth mindset when giving and receiving feedback
