Project description
We’re looking for an experienced contract Brand Designer focused on print and experiential work. This role is structured as a short-term and temporary independent contractor engagement, not as an employment relationship. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our Senior Manager, Brand Design, and contribute alongside our Creative Team, which includes copywriters, web designers, and brand designers. Ideal candidates are self-motivated and self-employed professionals who excel in a dynamic environment. About the project engagement
- Conceptualize and design for print and experiential touchpoints autonomously as part of larger campaigns and initiatives, ensuring deliverables meet project specifications.
- Liaise with the marketing team as an independent consultant to interpret marketing goals and produce creative work that adheres to brand guidelines.
- Independently develop and refine brand guidelines and visual identity, collaborating with the creative team as needed to ensure consistency and brand integrity.
- Oversee and prioritize your own brand design project workload, ensuring efficient time management and adherence to project deadlines in a self-directed manner.
- Initiate and maintain communication regarding project status and milestones with the Manager, Project Managers, or other designated partners, ensuring transparency and independent progress updates.
- Seek and integrate feedback independently, utilizing professional judgment to determine when and how to incorporate input from the team and cross-functional partners while maintaining a respectful and empathetic approach.
- Present multiple design options to a problem showcasing different creative approaches and visual solutions to elevate the brand
- Effectively communicate rationale behind design decisions and iterate on designs, based on feedback, to ensure alignment and achieve optimal results within the scope of your independent expertise.
Ideally your contract profile demonstrates the following experience:
- Have 8+ years in brand design with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual and experiential design with various clients
- Have experience working in-house and/or agency side
- Are proficient using design tools, including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Proactively seek out scalable solutions that solve common pain points related to craft, communication, or team output
- Care about the details and have an extremely strong sense of design sensibilities, from high-level strategic direction to production details
- Have a proven track record of independently owning and executing projects, from initial definition through to completion, with minimal oversight.
- Have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions
- Have strong organizational skills and manage multiple project deadlines
- Work well within ambiguous and dynamic environments
