What you’ll be doing

We are looking for a Director of Product Marketing to fill a mat leave position for an 8-12 month contract depending on your available start date. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this role will collaborate closely with our Senior Leadership Team on cross-company initiatives and sit on the Marketing Leadership Team alongside Demand Gen, Content + Brand, and Marketing Operations, to drive growth at all stages of the funnel.

This is an exciting opportunity to enter a product-led saas organization in the fastly growing social media and social commerce space to push our brand and business forward. During your time with Later, you will be responsible for managing the product marketing team, guiding the strategic plan for 2023 in alignment with company goals and helping move projects forward, and providing your guidance and domain expertise.

Product Marketing at Later has a large breadth of focuses; Product GTM, Pricing + Packaging GTM, Competitive + Market Intelligence, Customer Advocacy, and overall company positioning tying in our mission, product and brand stories to create a cohesive all encompassing value proposition that resonates with our personas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, leadership, development and support to guide the product marketing team to drive messaging, positioning, launch strategy, GTM plans, and competitive intelligence.
  • Influence and articulate audience centric product positioning, value propositions, competitive differentiators and messaging across teams.
  • Steer cross-organization alignment including partnering with our SLT and MLT on our company objectives and impact on GTM.
  • Hold annual and quarterly OKR planning with the team to ensure focus on overallbusiness objectives.
  • Track and report on business performance and insights to key stakeholders across all areas of focus addressing acquisition to retention.
  • Ensure marketing and customer facing teams are empowered and informed of product roadmap, timelines, and messaging so they can effectively execute on GTM initiatives.
  • Manage a team of high-performing Product Marketers, empowering them to take ownership over their space and guiding them in their career - wherever they wish to grow.
  • Work with Product Management leaders to Influence product roadmap, future releases and business strategy by understanding market trends & customer needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure we are building processes across teams and channels that will scale with us as we grow.
  • Collaborate with leaders across Marketing, Product, Success, and Business Strategy to identify opportunities to enable and support the success of their teams.
  • Leverage marketing insights and customer data to better understand our customers and represent the voice of the customer.

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing with 3+ years of these focused in product marketing experience in B2B or B2C saas
  • 2 + years of experience in a team leadership role. You’re a people-first leader capable of developing talent, expertise, and collaboration to create an inclusive environment. Has experience managing manager-level individuals.
  • Strong self-serve Saas experience is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills. You are someone who is comfortable saying exactly what you are thinking and can communicate ideas and direction with clarity.
  • Exceptional crossfunctional collaboration experience working with product, design, growth, and content teams.
  • Experience turning data and insights into programs for improving awareness and adoption at global scale. You must be comfortable making decisions based on data.
  • Experience managing budgets and optimizing spend to achieve corporate objectives
  • Critical thinker with problem-solving and project management expertise.
  • Thrives in an experimental and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to embody our core values of nimbleness and flexibility between strategy and execution.
  • Takes a collaborative, proactive, and strategic approach to their work

Working Locations:

Later is proudly founded and based in Vancouver. Our team can work remotely from one of our hub city locations: Vancouver, Toronto or London UK. We post our positions in the hub location that we are looking to hire for that role. By the end of 2022, our goal is to move to a hybrid working model to offer the flexibility of working remotely from a hub city and connecting in person.
