We’re looking for a Director to lead and grow the teams designing our infrastructure monitoring , Logs, Digital Experience Monitoring and Data Monitoring products —these product areas are the heart of the Datadog ecosystem. We design tools that give engineers access to real-time data about their Infrastructure, applications and functions to troubleshoot problems and improve performance. Our designers know how to creatively display dense, high cardinality data in both tabular and visual ways.

As a Director you’ll lead and grow talented teams of designers, multiple managers and help ensure the right balance of skills and sub-disciplines on your design teams through mentorship and hiring. You’ll help define new products, lay the groundwork for new and exciting experiences, and help scale the design organization with new systems and processes. You will also partner with ENG, PM and other design teams to deliver UX strategy that significantly improves product experiences. The team is made up of full-stack designers, owning all aspects of our work from research, prototyping, polish, and visual design—and we collaborate closely with engineers on implementation.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture: the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

  • Build consensus across diverse teams through user-centric solutions and effective communication.
  • Effectively communicate and present solutions to user problems across the organization and senior executives, as well as to large groups of end users.
  • Own quality of user experience for your area.
  • Work with the product team to plan the future of the product
  • Work with other managers across the company to deliver cross-cutting projects
  • Contribute to shaping the future of the design organization

Who You Are:

  • At least 3 years of experience managing managers of teams of product designers
  • At least 13+ years of experience designing digital products
  • You have designed enterprise software and/or developer tools
  • You understand cloud infrastructure and have experience with platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • You have prior experience working with design systems at scale
  • Your portfolio includes a proven track record shipping product design work for products
  • Your management experience includes OKR planning and feature prioritization
  • You give and receive feedback well, and support and improve the work of your colleagues
  • You have a BS/BFA/MA/MS in a related design field or equivalent experience
  • You want to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment

Benefits and Growth:

  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing
