Director, Product Design

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Product Design Director who will own the design direction at Cadre. As a Design Director, you will be responsible for helping our team deeply understand the needs of our investors and build delightful and intuitive experiences throughout their investing journey. You will also oversee the user experience of our internal tools that enable our teams to efficiently serve our customers. You will work closely with the team to influence not only what we build, but how we build it by developing best practices in user research, UI/UX, design systems, implementation/delivery, and gathering feedback. 

The Product Design Director will lead our product design team and will report to the Head of Product. Success in this role is defined by team performance as well as the quality of the user experience including the impact, consistency, ease of use, and aesthetics of the final product. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead the design direction at Cadre, working closely with the Head of Product
• Own and implement a design system that elevates the Cadre experience
• Coach and develop a team of product designers, promoting a high performance culture 
• Collaborate closely with the product, engineering, and design teams to help define features and ensure high-quality user experiences
• Design wireframes, flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals
• Own the design problems and decisions from initial concept to launch (and beyond)

WHAT YOU HAVE

• 7+ years of product design experience, 3+ years of experience leading a team
• Portfolio showcasing strong design fundamentals and meaningful product work with demonstrable business impact
• Experience working and collaborating with engineers, product managers and comfortable being the voice of design at Cadre
• Experience designing and implementing a design system using Figma
• Being willing to roll-up your sleeves and offer hands-on coaching to product designers
• Experience with user testing tools, running focus groups, etc.
• Experience turning complex problems into simple and engaging customer experiences
• Proven comfort with an iterative design process that includes accepting and acting on feedback and constructive criticism

The Base Salary for this role ranges from $200,000-$220,000 plus bonus and equity.  The final offer number for base is dependent on experience, both in industry and alignment with the role.
