Director of Product Marketing job at Material

We are looking for a senior product marketing leader to build a program from the ground up. This key, strategic role within the company will partner closely with the CMO, VP Product, CEO, sales leadership, and others across the organization.

We need someone who is excited to build first and hire second. It is important that this person is hands-on and builds the trust and confidence of our GTM and product teams. This person will be our most senior product marketer and will build a team over time.

Product marketing plays many roles and expectations of this function vary greatly across different companies. At Material Security, we believe the best product marketing will result in shorter sales cycles, higher win rates, and steady or growing ASPs. How that is achieved will be dictated by this hire.

Responsibilities

Go-to-market strategy and enablement - You will enable our sales team through training, sales decks, competitive positioning, etc. In partnership with teams across the marketing department, you will inform strategy and planning based on your unique understanding of the market and our customers.
Positioning and messaging - Working with the founders and product team, you will inform the positioning of our company and products and create messaging that resonates with prospects and captures the “why” behind Material Security’s innovative approach.
Market research and analysis - You will build and maintain a strong understanding of our market, competitors and other trends to inform efforts across product and GTM. You will build and disseminate a clear understanding of our target customers.
Content - You will craft and inform ongoing content efforts across various channels and mediums. You will ensure that marketing content and other external materials effectively tell a compelling story about Material Security and our products.
Product launches and announcements - You will partner with the product team to ensure we have effective and impactful launches and product communications.
Analyst relations - You will determine the optimal strategy for analyst engagement and work directly with analysts with the support of any executives or the product team you need.
Leadership - You will effectively build relationships across the organization to influence others and align cross-functional efforts.

What We're Looking For

7+ years of SaaS product marketing experience
Strong understanding of the security market or the Microsoft/Google office platforms, particularly email and/or securing sensitive content and data
Demonstrated ability to build programs from start to finish
Expertise in writing differentiated and compelling marketing content for CISOs and security practitioners
Ability to create clear and compelling presentations and decks for internal and external audiencesExcellent communication skills
