Director of Product Design for All Turtles

Hey there! ?? We’re All Turtles, a globally distributed product studio dedicated to solving meaningful problems felt by people and companies alike. 

Sometimes we build our own products and brands and bring them to market. (You may have heard of mmhmm, one of our latest products.) We also collaborate with and support early-stage founders with their products and brands, and in other critical areas like recruiting, intellectual property, and fundraising. Unlike agencies and consulting firms, our incentives are fully aligned with founders: the success of their products means success for All Turtles.

The Design team

Product development at All Turtles is iterative, fast-paced, and design-led. (That’s also why we’re the largest team.)

Our designers are globally distributed and we bring our expertise and diverse experiences into everything that we do. In collaboration with founders, we design delightful brands and thoughtful user experiences, care deeply about language and accessibility, and actively listen to and solve problems for the people who use our products. 

Brand and product design are never seen as siloed, conflicting efforts. Instead, our brand, product, and content designers partner closely to create a cohesive experience and design language that shapes every aspect of our products.

The next chapter in design leadership

With our recent successes, our team is evolving and growing. Over time, we’ve developed a clearer understanding of what our designers need to succeed and new opportunities to help them thrive, from creating a Program Management discipline to getting sharper on people management and career paths. 

We’re also redefining the structure and future of design leadership at All Turtles for a more scalable future — which is hopefully why you’re here, and just as excited about it as we are!

Your impact

As Director of Product Design, you’ll support and champion our team of product designers, content designers, and user researchers. You’re passionate about managing and coaching, with a knack for identifying opportunities that can support individual career goals and the studio’s design needs. You know what your team needs to do their best work, when to step in and give guidance, and when to let a team member lead the way.

As a leader with strong opinions that are loosely held, you’re sought out for your strategic perspective on product design across multiple projects. You’ll work with functional leads and founders to understand project needs and resourcing, and define how cross-functional teams plan, prioritize, and sequence projects — because it’s not just about what gets made, but how and why. And if the team needs additional help, you’ll roll up your sleeves and contribute your design skills.

You’ll collaborate with the Director of Brand Design as a leadership duo to continue bridging brand and product design. You care deeply about people — our team, founders, the people who use our products — and, as part of the leadership team, build a culture that fosters psychological safety, trusted relationships, and clear, empathetic communication.

Along with the Director of Brand Design, the Director of Product Design is a full-time role and reports to the Head of Design.
