SUMMARY

We're seeking an exceptional Director of Design to lead our design organization and shape the future of conversational AI experiences. You'll drive design strategy across our platform while building and leading a high-performing team of product designers. This role requires someone who can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in our fast-paced, technical environment.

Full-time - 100% Remote - UK, Germany, or Serbia [Preferred location: Berlin, Germany]

• This is a remote position, but we cannot hire anybody outside of the UK, Germany, or Serbia for this position.

• Rasa can assist with work authorization (visa sponsorship) for candidates located in Germany only.

ABOUT YOU

• 8+ years of design experience and 3+ years leading teams.

• Strong background in B2B, developer tools, or technical products.

• Proven ability to align design with business strategy and influence at all levels.

• Expertise in UX, interaction design, and systems thinking.

• Collaborative, pragmatic leader with a passion for innovation in AI.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As Director of Design, you’ll play a pivotal role in elevating Rasa’s platform experience—guiding how our products look, feel, and work for both developers and business users. You’ll influence not only design outcomes but also how design shapes product direction, collaboration, and innovation across the company.

• Set and drive design strategy, principles, and systems across complex technical products.

• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of product designers.

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to deliver cohesive, user-centered experiences.

• Lead end-to-end design for critical initiatives, from workflows to analytics.

• Establish efficient design operations in a fast-paced, startup/scale-up environment.

MEET YOUR TEAM

The product team currently consists of 4 Product Managers and 3 Product Designers who collaborate closely.

Most of the product team is based in Berlin, with one member currently located in Spain and another in India. We are a small but high-performing team that enjoys working together and having fun. While we mostly work remotely, we also love to meet in the office for brainstorming sessions.
