The Company

Fuzzy is your pet health partner. On a mission to make pet care more accessible, Fuzzy is a subscription-based service offering members 24/7 Live Vet Chat support, virtual vet consultations, and on-demand answers from a team of licensed, on-staff pet health experts. Fuzzy also offers pet parents vet-tested and recommended products and personalized programs for nutrition, training, and obedience.

The Role

This role reports directly into the CPO. As a member of the Fuzzy Product team, you will bring life to innovative products that enhance the lives of pets and their humans. You’ll be on point for leading the mobile design team, ensuring the mobile designers are working together to create a holistic experience and are focused on high impact initiatives. The Fuzzy team has high standards and is constantly striving to get better. You are comfortable coaching other designers and providing feedback on their designs. You will work closely with the product, engineering, and leadership teams to define what we build and how we build it. Through gaining an understanding of our members and pet parents, you’ll lead UX strategy and navigate the ambiguity of where to take the mobile app.

Responsibilities

Empathy is at your core. You take an empathy-driven approach to your design.
Deeply understand our customers. You will partner with our CX team to become an expert on the challenges our customers face.
Contribute to product design processes & help build a design-centric company
Facilitate collaboration within the product design team and communicate effectively with other teams.
Create user experiences from soup to nuts - from concepts through wireframing and visual design to implementation, you'll mock up solutions, test with users, iterate and iterate again until the user experience is right.
Work with product and engineering leads to help craft the team's product and design road map — we want to build products that bring joy to members and solve real problems
Work closely with the engineering team to ensure our releases are of high quality.
Develop ideas into delightful products that demonstrate your understanding of user problems and product vision as well as the business needs.
Utilize storytelling to effectively communicate your vision and gain buy-in.

What We're Looking For

9+ years of working as part of a product design team, 3+ years managing a team.
A track record of leading design for complex initiatives.
Experience building design processes and hiring amazing designers.
The ability to coach designers and provide feedback in a thoughtful manner.
The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and get things done.
A portfolio of native projects that shows your design process, final designs, and impact.
A strong design thinker with a passion for user-centric design, and the ability to help evangelize design within a larger org.
Have loads of user empathy to solve problems while also balancing business goals in the product —you’re as interested in the “why” as the “how”, ensuring projects are of high impact.
Detail oriented and passionate about making designs perfect but not losing the forest in the trees—ability to prototype, collect feedback, and iterate.
Hypothesis-driven design framework—comfortable presenting ideas & collecting feedback from various stakeholders (product / engineering / leadership).
