About the role

As the Director of Engineering Product Management for Chime’s Financial Platform, you’ll be responsible for building and leading the team of Engineering Product Managers to deliver on our strategy of a safe and easy to use financial platform that powers Chime’s rapid product iteration in service to our members. 

You will be responsible for developing the strategy and roadmaps, monitoring and communicating progress, and leading and developing a team of domain experts and platform thinkers that can lead teams through the development of new financial products and capabilities. 

Your remit is broad - developing Chime’s account programs, card and ACH payment rails, and system of record capabilities supporting the core Member experience of Chime. 

You’ll represent Chime’s members to our key business partners, and you'll partner with other leaders in Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security, Machine Learning to develop a cohesive ecosystem of capabilities that power Chime’s innovation and growth.

For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $259,500 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Serve as the product owner of our financial platform which powers all financial capabilities of Chime.
  • Hire and mentor a team of engineering product managers to develop cohesive strategies, OKRs and backlogs while setting a high bar for quality.
  • Collaborate with technical, product, and design leaders across Chime to learn and understand their requirements and plan for their future needs
  • Be an executive voice with Chime’s partners to align strategy and requirements
  • Encourage innovation and foster an environment of continuous improvement. Establish a sense of urgency and direction, set expectations with team and individuals.
  • Communicate strategy, impact and risks to leadership at Chime
  • Establish metrics for measuring velocity and success of product initiatives

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 10+ years of product management experience
  • Technical skills, with experience and track record of success in building high-velocity, low-latency, high-availability services
  • Empathetic people leadership - you are an action enabler, and talent builder and an advocate for your teams.
  • A clear data-oriented focus
  • Great storytelling with strong communication skills to bring stakeholders together collaboratively.
  • Experience leading technical products in financial services.
