Design System Designer

The design system at Mews plays a critical role in connecting the whole company to create a remarkable experience. That is the reason that just following trends is not enough. We aim to create a scalable, timeless, and inspiring design system. We shape future trends.

You will be responsible for creating our shared design language, removing blockers, and breaking down silos between disciplines. You can expect close collaboration and deeper technical discussions with designers, creatives, and engineers.

Requirements

• Design expert but not jack-of-all trades
  A modern design is much more than a visual. We research to build empathy, apply accessibility and usability standards, build patterns and principles, and continuously validate our work. Be that expert contributor in two or more design domains.
• Communication master
  Excellent communication is key, but great presentation and negotiation skills are also essential for this role. Moreover, one of our cultural pillars is being Open, sharing, and giving constructive feedback.
• Collaborative mate
  Working closely with other teams, collecting their feedback, providing guidance and support, or leading design sessions and workshops can be a great example of that.
• Proficient in modern design tools
  We work in Figma and that should be your power tool. We use other tools like Dovetail, Miro, Hotjar and more that you might not know yet but you will need to learn them quickly.

?? Who is Mews?

We want to get to know you, so it’s only fair we tell you a little bit about ourselves first. We were founded in 2012 by a team of former hoteliers, and since then we’ve been transforming hospitality for both hotel staff and guests.

Essentially, Mews is a powerful software platform that acts as a central nervous system for hotels, hostels, apartments and more. We use smart tech and automation to make day-to-day operations easier for hoteliers, so they can focus on the thing that really matters: providing remarkable guest experiences.

More than 2,000 properties across 60+ countries are powered by Mews, with more joining every week. Bookings, payments, operations, guest management – everything a hotel needs to operate can be done through our solution. We work with some amazing hotels, including Sage Hospitality Group, Machefert Group, The Student Hotel, and Tsogo Sun Hotels.
