Design Program Manager - job at Spotify

We are looking for our first UX Design Program Manager to join the Amplify Mission here at Spotify!

In this role, you will define and drive the Spotify Advertiser, Publisher and Listener product experiences. You will drive central initiatives across multiple teams, to help evolve our design culture. You will build excellence around design operations, collaboration, and processes across our teams and work closely with the Directors of Design for Amplify.

You will report to the Global Design Operations team, a team that supports and elevates the Spotify design organization through driving strategic programs of work and encouraging a growing design community.

What you'll do:

Work with senior design leadership to establish key processes, resource planning, and strategy, that integrate the design teams and keep them running efficiently and effectively
Supervise strategic design initiatives in an organized and transparent fashion and communicate progress to the director of design and global head of design ops
Streamline communications to ensure information and knowledge is flowing freely
Identify convergence and/or collaboration opportunities for duplicate or interdependent tracks of work
Ensure the teams are on track, facilitate decision-making, resolve blockers and surface challenges
Improve how the design team collaborate with other functions such as product management, engineering, and insights
Stay aligned with the morale, gleaning early signals for when a project or team is headed off track and quickly taking action before an issue arises
Coordinate project/program reviews, planning sessions, offsite's and other team events
Enable continuous improvement during the project, ensuring takeaways are captured, shared, and coordinated

Who you are:

You exhibit a deep understanding of the design process and a keen awareness of designer needs
You are comfortable feed-backing senior design leaders
You have experience running large, cross-functional programs working with both design and engineering teams and proven critical thinking, and leadership.
You have the skills to gather and synthesize information, and can confidently and coherently communicate across teams and levels across the organization
You’re flexible, and use your judgment to apply the model and approach that best fit with the context of the program and the needs of the team
You’re the glue of a happy, productive, cross-functional team; making space for the creative work to happen in a transparent and open environment
