Working at Atlassian

Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or return to an office as they reopen (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.

With a sufficient timezone overlap with the team, we're able to hire eligible candidates for this role from any location in Australia and New Zealand. If this sparks your interest, apply today and chat with our friendly Recruitment team further.

Atlassian is growing faster than ever and is looking for a Design Ops Coordinator to join our design operations team, Design Hub. The Design Hub team is a multi-disciplinary design operations team focused on enabling more effective designers and a more efficient Experience Design org. We own the operationalizing, optimizing, and scaling of design by designing practices, systems, and tools that drive operational and craft excellence.

In this role, you will support programs and initiatives focused on scaling design best practices and operationalizing experience quality. You will work to identify opportunities to reduce friction to enable design teams to deliver their most impactful work, create the best customer experiences, and grow/develop in their design career.

In this role, you might:

  • Help ensure a consistent and welcoming onboarding experience for new team members
  • Coordinate and help plan meetings, offsites, and workshops, and maintain the rhythms of team rituals.
  • Work with DesignOps Leads and design leaders to collect and report on project status, team accomplishments, and key metrics.
  • Contractor, vendor, and tooling management for projects and teams, as needed.
  • Help gather and share team success stories and be an evangelist for design and customer experience.
  • Build relationships across teams, listening to and understanding the needs of a rapidly growing team; help enable Design Hub to be proactive in supporting and anticipating needs as well as addressing new ones quickly and effectively.
  • Build partnerships across the experience design org as well as cross-functional organizations.
  • Constantly look for ways to improve and optimize our ways of working and make others successful.

In order to be successful in this role, you:

  • Are a problem solver. You think fast on your feet, come up with solutions to critical situations, make timely decisions and take calculated risks. You seek out opportunities to improve and optimize - constantly searching for new knowledge, new ideas and you're willing to learn and try better ways.
  • Are an excellent communicator. You know how to connect with people all over the globe at various levels of seniority. You know that storytelling is the cornerstone of shared understanding and change management.
  • You are a multiplier at all levels of the organization. You're a multiplier who recognizes the intelligence around you and you inspire and motivate others to do their best work.
  • You are a systems thinker. You always have a line of sight to the big picture. You're constantly seeking to connect the dots and solve for the root problem – not just the immediate symptom.
  • Love operations. You're organized, proactive, and thrive in the details–even as you work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment. You recognize the importance of long-term goals, have vision, and are committed to success.

In terms of experience, this means:

  • Background in design, project management, communication, operations, or similar role
  • You have a foundational understanding of the design practices and methodologies and the product development lifecycle.
  • You are able to support multiple projects at once and work collaboratively within and across teams.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with various stakeholders including design leadership, finance, and external vendors.

Our perks & benefits

To support you at work and play, our perks and benefits include ample time off, an annual education budget, paid volunteer days, and so much more.
