Design Operations, Central Design - Location Flexible

Role Description

You are an experienced program management professional who has honed skills in the product design and development lifecycle. You can see the uncertainties that slow teams down and help surface questions to lead teams through challenges, unblock decision-making, and provide clarity and direction. You sweat the details. You are a thoughtful and pragmatic decision maker, and know how and when to loop in the right stakeholders. You will be responsible for program management processes, including program scope, program organization, resourcing, plan development, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with design leads to ensure productive product design processes
• Balance competing project priorities, sequence work, and allocate resources accordingly
• Own the creation and management of project plans and implement effective project tracking
• Make sure interdependencies are known and accounted for, and help surface/remove roadblocks when needed
• Hold teams accountable for delivery against objectives and milestones
• Facilitate design stand-ups and reviews
• Develop and own communication plan and review cadence with stakeholders
• Ensure effective team communication and information distribution
• Ensure team’s continual alignment on project direction and expected outcomes
• Proactively communicate scope/schedule changes and impact to stakeholders
• Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional sub-teams
• Maintain thorough documentation
• Continually monitor and report on team health
• Evangelize team successes/learnings: Share back successful practices, frameworks, tools, lessons learned
• Engage team members to be active contributors to broader Design org initiatives (all hands, publishing, public speaking, etc)
• Onboard new hires for your area
• Onboard and manage 3rd party vendors/contractors as needed
• Evaluate, select, implement process and tools that fit the team’s needs
