About the role 

Chime is seeking a Product Design Manager to join the Growth Design team. You will be responsible for managing a small team of talented human beings and contributing to the strategy, planning, and execution of the team’s work. The mission of this team is to set people up on a healthy financial journey with Chime. 

We are looking for a passionate design leader who will hire and develop a team of Product Designers, guide them towards quality design outcomes for our members and our business, and work closely with cross functional leadership to help define the future of this product. 

For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has an annual starting salary of $159,000 plus bonus, a competitive equity package, and benefits (see below). The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to

  • Contribute to the strategy and help craft a vision for the Retention team, offering a strong product and design voice 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, user research, and marketing to ensure a smooth product development process.
  • Recruit new designers and actively participate in the hiring process.
  • Cultivate a healthy design process that elevates the output of your team
  • Communicate your team's work to senior management and executives
  • Work with each designer on career development and personal growth, ensuring that Chime isn’t just a job, but a place designers can launch their careers.

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 10+ years of proven history shipping consumer mobile and web products
  • 2+ years of additional experience managing and building design teams
  • Experience with working in highly ambiguous problem spaces 
  • The drive and ability to push the boundaries of design and simplify complex problems into elegant solutions
  • A relentless desire to make finance work for our user’s benefit
  • Fintech experience is a plus, but not required
