Design Manager

The Experience Team defines how our customers, riders, restaurants, and employees interact with Deliveroo’s products and services end-to-end. 

Based throughout London and the greater UK, our diverse team has global impact. We cook up accessible, localised, and inclusive products for customers in Singapore, riders in Australia, grocery chains in Amsterdam, restaurant kitchens in Dubai—and beyond. Our user-focus guides us as we build the definitive online food company together. 

Our Design Managers ensure the Designers in their team can happily and healthily do their best work. They nurture people’s professional and personal development, interview new teammates, and guide with empathy and pragmatism. Their people-first leadership approach allows them to leverage people’s strengths while fostering a safe space for people to fail, learn, and grow.

Your role

On a day-to-day basis you will…

• Grow your team by interviewing world-class design talent
• Support your team’s development with focus on personal and professional growth as well as technical and interpersonal skills
• Role model Deliveroo’s culture so your team members see our values in action
• Enable world-class design execution by coaching quality standards such as accessibility, localisation, and other design best practices
• Help your team execute efficiently in a fast-moving, global environment with clear communication, sufficient context, and a roadblock-free path
• Encourage collaboration and openness to ensure work is shared early and often, and constructive criticism is delivered with kindness as we strive toward excellence
• Prepare the next generation of managers and help our individual contributors progress in their careers
• Share and celebrate your team’s talent and work with regular recognition of and communication about significant achievements
