Copilot Staff Product Manager

GitHub Copilot’s vision is to be the AI assistant for software developers that help with all aspects of development workflow. The Copilot team believes our success can benefit from being ubiquitous across developer tools, both 1P and 3P, and our impact can be amplified by empowering developer tools’ owners to own their experience with us, versus having us to do it all. To achieve this, we will grow Copilot from a product in IDE that only provides auto-completion into a Code Intelligent Platform that infuses AI into all aspects of the developer’s workflow. We are looking for an experienced and passionate product manager who will join the journey with us to take Copilot to the next level!

Responsibilities:

GitHub Copilot · Your AI pair programmer is powered by the State-of-the-Art Open AI models and backed by Microsoft Azure Open AI service. As we are looking to build a Copilot Intelligent Platform to enable partners to bring AI assisted exp to developers workflow, it’s a mandate that we need to stay true to customer promise to build the platform in a compliant and secure way and respect users and customers data and code privacy.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Drive Copilot telemetry service development to ensure high quality data delivery for models quality improvements, starting from driving smooth transition of the service ownership from AIP to GH. 
• Partner with peer product managers to design product level metrics to track holistic Copilot quality and establish quality metrics dashboard for monitoring, tracking and reporting. Designing solutions to minimize offline and online quality metrics measurement gap. 
• Partner with GH and Devdiv scientists and engineers to design a tooling system for prompt engineering quality.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years experience in a product management role, designing and shipping complex products for developers, ML professionals, preferably in data related areas.
• Bachelor and/or advanced degree in CS, Machine Learning, NLP, or Computational Linguistics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate clearly and articulate complex technical problems in a simple and easily understood way.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and scientists, and influence team direction through leveraging competitive and industry research analysis.
• Experience with LLM models, and understanding of NLU/NLP/NLG.

Minimum salary of $118,100 to maximum $313,300.

In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role.

Location: In this role, you can work remotely from anywhere in the United States.
