Contract: Product Designer, Growth

This is an engagement through Upwork’s Hybrid Workforce Solutions (HWS) Team. Our Hybrid Workforce Solutions Team is a global group of professionals that support Upwork’s business. Our HWS team members are located all over the world.

Work/Project Scope: 

• Be curious. Learn about our users, build deep empathy for their needs, advocate for them and deliver impactful experiences that connect their goals to business context.
• Collaborate with user researchers, product managers, data scientists, developers, and other designers to frame problems and take ideas from ideation through implementation.
• Demonstrate high-quality design practices by ensuring decisions are made with appropriate user insight and follow existing UX/UI systems while making well-informed decisions to create new patterns.
• Lead projects through an end-to-end design process: research, ideation, strategy, information architecture, interaction design, launch, testing, and further iteration. 
• Help create and influence the team roadmap by understanding and communicating user insights in context to business goals while balancing tradeoffs of opportunity and level of effort for learning and performance. 
• You’re able to scope your work. Estimate the level of effort and time to completion and establish a regular cadence of communication around the work and maintain your work in our workflow process. 
• Build a variety of design assets to communicate your concepts to a broad range of partners and end users; ranging from strategy and experience concepts to detailed design systems and assets.
• Work closely with developers to deliver a polished final product.

Must Haves (Required Skills):

• Advanced in design and prototyping tools such as Figma and Sketch
• 3+ years of experience as a practicing product designer or a similar role, ideally previous experience on a Growth team and/or Marketplace experience
• Experience designing flexible, responsive UIs that are sophisticated for both desktop and mobile.
• An outstanding portfolio. Please include a link or PDF portfolio containing detailed UX case studies (minimum 3) as well as examples of strong visual design; designers without a portfolio will not be considered.
• Fluent English
