About the Role
Hummingbird is looking for a thoughtful, creative content writer to join our growing marketing team! The person filling this role will produce written content in a variety of formats, partnering closely with other members of the marketing team to develop clear, strategic, and effective copy that helps build the Hummingbird brand.
What you’re looking to do:
- Satisfy your curiosity. You like to learn, and don’t shy away from complex topics. In fact, transforming something complicated into something easily understood is a big part of what you do.
- Write. (And then write some more.) You love putting words on paper. Writing is your craft skill, and you believe there’s something magical about turning good thinking into great writing.
- Work on something meaningful. You want to write about things that matter. While you might not be an anti-money laundering whiz just yet, you’re excited by the idea of working for a mission-driven company and helping prevent financial crime.
What we’re looking for:
- An exceptional communicator. A writer who knows that it’s clarity and concision > everything else. We’re looking for someone who naturally tailors their writing to both audience and channel.
- An empathetic creative partner. You know how to get the best out of SMEs in order to produce A+ written content. You’re also an effective ghostwriter, able to match the voice and tone of others.
- A sense of humor! Our industry is complicated, but it shouldn’t be boring and dull. We’re keen to find someone who can help bring a bit of levity to the world of compliance.
- Strong research and critical thinking skills. You do your homework, and know the path to great writing is paved with preparation, organization, and persistence.
- Enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) experience – or really tech B2B experience in general – is a plus but not a requirement.
