Your Impact

As the domestic content writer, you will demonstrate expertise in the content creation process, maintain content libraries critical to proposal team success, standardize and streamline proposal content, help proposal managers with client-specific strategy, and communicate with subject matter experts across various departments in the organization.

You will lead the content management/creation process for the Domestic Proposal Team. This process will include attending kick-off meetings with proposal managers, sales reps, sales engineers, legal reps, etc., as well as one-on-one meetings with proposal managers to create competitive and strategic content to help drive positive RFP outcomes. You will be responsible for updating content as technology changes or as new technology is introduced, creating compelling pieces of content with up-to-date stats and client lists, and tailoring company-wide language to match the existing voice of our proposal responses.

You will be required to establish an expansive knowledge base of all Axon hardware and software, and use such information to provide written and verbal assistance to team members across the organization, while providing support for broader Proposal Team initiatives through product training and process improvements.

What You’ll Do

Location: Remotely from United States
Reports to: Head of Global Proposals

• Develops technical content and/or documentation focused on the domestic market for multiple features, products, and/or company information, while completing other assignments assigned by the content team lead.
• Works closely with internal subject matter experts—including proposal managers, product managers and engineers, professional services personnel, leadership, sales representatives, etc.—to establish strong working relationships and a heightened awareness of company-wide resources.
• Contributes to the content library by adding new and standardized content, identifying content needs, and writing/developing content with subject matter experts.
• Acts with guidance from an experienced content team lead to complete tasks such as keeping stats and other documentation up-to-date.
• Assesses and evaluates requirements to create informative, concise, visually compelling, engaging, and easy-to-understand proposal content.
• Applies Axon product knowledge to help improve and maintain strategic proposal content.
• Interacts with domestic/international proposal team members to deliver ad-hoc writing requests.
• Reports weekly to the content team lead to share information that helps prioritize workload and content creation tasks.
• Communicates directly with domestic sales leaders to identify gaps in strategic content and develop client-specific language.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Journalism or related field preferred
• 2+ years of technical writing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Direct technical writing experience for features and/or services.
• Experience working cross-functionally, including user research, product management, UX design, engineering, marketing, sales, etc.
• Mastery of desktop publishing and document formatting tools including MS Office (e.g. PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, and others to produce visually appealing and concise documents and diagrams
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Rigorous attention to detail and excellent technical writing skills including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Excellent comprehension, organization, and prioritization skills required
• Solid time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage various competing deadlines
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in Qvidian, Qorus, or similar proposal automation software
• Knowledge and experience using Salesforce preferred
• Experience with graphic design software preferred
• Experience working and influencing multiple stakeholders within a cross-functional, geo-dispersed team
