At Lyft, our mission is to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. To do this, we start in our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization.

We’re looking for a Content Designer to join the growing Content Design team. As a Content Designer at Lyft you’ll use storytelling and language to make sense of tricky problems and deliver end-to-end product experiences that change how people get from point A to point B, alongside a stellar team of fellow design thinkers.

This may be a good fit for you if: you’re a writer with experience designing content in various mediums. You’re a relentless advocate for the user and you never tire of asking “who’s the audience here?” And perhaps most importantly, you’re comfortable exploring ambiguity through flexible, generative thinking.

Responsibilities:

  • Work to make complicated ideas simple, clear, and easier to understand
  • Draw on your expertise to determine the right message to craft, and right way to deliver that message
  • Define and document the content strategy for products, and as necessary share that strategy with the larger design team
  • Partner closely with designers, researchers, engineers, marketers, product managers, and other stakeholders to create solution and influence a final product that support both the business and the user
  • Be a vocal champion for content design within and outside of Lyft
  • Approach your work with empathy and a big dose of “beginner’s mind,” remembering that there is rarely one “right” answer
  • Work to balance speed and competing priorities with a commitment to your craft

Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience writing and designing content
  • A consistent ability to mimic voice and tone
  • Comfort being uncomfortable, especially when plans change and priorities get muddled
  • Identifying opportunities to make a change and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get started
  • An understanding of how to use storytelling to make content more engaging and impactful
  • Experience engaging and collaborating with people who work in a variety of different functions from a wide range of backgrounds
  • A sense of humor with a nice dash of humility and curiosity
  • Being a self-starter who knows how to navigate through an organization, while also possessing enough assuredness to know when to ask for additional support

Benefits:

  • Great medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Mental health benefits
  • In addition to 12 observed holidays, salaried team members have unlimited paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
  • 401(k) plan to help save for your future
  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Biological, adoptive, and foster parents are all eligible
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Lyft Pink - Lyft team members get an exclusive opportunity to test new benefits of our Ridership Program
