About the Role

We’re looking for a Communications Designer to conceive and design across a broad spectrum of media with a focus on end-user education: product illustrations, information graphics, printed guides, product manuals, and emails, while also exploring and maturing the visual brand. You’ll work directly with the Director of Training and Content, technical writers, marketing design, and other cross-functional designers to bring the Skydio brand to life across a variety of educational materials/content.

How you’ll make an impact:

Design compelling and consistent digital and print content for the training team
Design infographics, illustrations, manuals, print guides, and more
Render detailed product illustrations using CAD files
Create and format presentations for communications with external partners
Adhere to Skydio brand guidelines and work with Marketing design to maintain a consistent voice across all content

What makes you a good fit:

Portfolio of work that showcases a diversity of design experience across both online and offline media, and clearly defines your roles in the creation of those projects
Experience with editorial design with a focus in print materials
Proven track record of delivering custom visuals that clearly convey complex concepts
Clear verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Collaboration - your best work is done in a highly collaborative way
Ability to scale work to deadlines
Strong belief that drones and AI-driven robotics are making the world a better place
B.A. in Graphic Design, Media Design, Digital Art, Marketing or similar or equivalent combination of education and related experience of 3+ years

Nice to haves:

Experience with product photography (capturing or retouching)
Some exposure to interface design tools and best practices
Packaging design

Your Portfolio

All candidates must possess a portfolio demonstrating experience in multiple disciplines within communication design including:

3D/2D illustration
Information Graphics
Print and Digital Editorial Design (in-box guides, manuals, training packets)
Brand Identity
