About the role:
The Communication, Engagement & Design Manager will partner with the Chief People Officer (CPO) and Senior Members of the People Team on all key aspects of communications, presentation design and engagement for the People Team. Samsara is growing quickly and our People Team is no exception. Being able to crisply and clearly communicate our vision and priorities to our employees inside the People Team across the organization is critical for our success. Likewise, helping us simplify the complex and be more intentional on how, when and why we engage our team is essential for us to move faster and have greater impact.
The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative, experienced communications and design professional, used to working in fast-paced, high-visibility roles, and partnering with a broad range of stakeholders. They need to be a structured thinker, an experienced presentation designer, an excellent writer, and a detail-oriented communications manager. Above all, the candidate must be low-ego and able to work well with others.

In this role, you will:
- Directly support the CPO on all manner of strategic communications and engagement–including presentations in Google Slides and assorted communications in Google Docs, Slack, email, and video–for audiences ranging from all employees or large employee populations, to our C-level executives, customers, and assorted internal stakeholders
- Design and help deliver an overarching People Team engagement plan, including setting a calendar and preparing for Town Halls, AMAs, QBRs and other activities and meetings, working with the CPO and his team
- Help support People Leadership Team with major presentations, including company-wide and customer-facing communications
- Help enable the broader People Team on presentation and design best practices, including running learning sessions and providing basic templates and pre-packaged tips
- Partner closely with the Marketing organization on major cross-company communications efforts, staying in sync on broader company communications strategy, design requirements, and approaches
- Track and analyze program results to identify key learnings that help improve future programs and communications
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Minimum of 8+ years experience in corporate communications and/or graphic design, including specifically executive presentation design
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver a function-level communications plan, working with a range of stakeholders
- Outstanding writing skills
- Proven ability to partner well with others and work in a matrixed environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

We value in-person collaboration and know a change of scenery and quiet space to work is welcomed from time to time, but also appreciate that the world of work has changed. Our offices remain open for those who prefer to collaborate or work in-office, but we also encourage fully remote applicants. As most roles are not required to be in the office, we are able to hire remotely where Samsara has an established presence.
