About the Role
Lyra is at the forefront of increasing access to evidence-based, efficacious mental health services on a large scale. Lyra has developed innovative blended models of coaching and psychotherapy that combine leading clinical expertise with routine outcomes monitoring and engaging clinical digital tools. Scientific publications on Lyra’s mental health coaching [example 1, 2], psychotherapy [example 1,2], medication management [example 1], and overall workforce mental health programs [example 1, 2] provide strong evidence for the clinical effectiveness of these evidence-based treatment programs.

We are looking for an experienced psychologist with a passion for writing, intervention development, and skills training to contribute to our care programs (including but not limited to our alcohol use and substance use disorders program and culturally responsive blended care therapy programming for depression, anxiety, and traumatic stress).  For this role, strong expertise in evidence based practices for mental and behavioral health is required. This position will largely be dedicated to writing on clinical topics. 

You will be part of a highly skilled, creative, and collaborative team with an established track record for developing effective and engaging interventions and digital clinical materials on psychotherapy skills and emotional wellness.  By directly reaching tens of thousands of clients, your work on interventions and digital clinical materials will help create meaningful positive change on a large scale.  

This position can be fully remote or hybrid (i.e., 2 days onsite at our Burlingame office, 3 days from home).

Your work will include:

  • Identifying and proposing clinical topics for materials related to evidence-based care (e.g., interventions for substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and trauma and stress-related disorders)
  • Development of clinical curriculums and outlines for digital clinical materials
  • Writing new, engaging clinical content including storytelling and dialogue
  • Receiving and incorporating significant feedback on your proposals and writing
  • Cross functional collaboration to produce educational materials
  • Trainings to help disseminate the use of digital clinical materials
  • Reviewing treatment manuals/research to inform the development of new clinical content
  • Reviewing sources of content we might consider to license

Requirements:

  • PsyD, PhD in Clinical Psychology/ Counseling 
  • Passionate about increasing access to mental and behavioral health interventions
  • Strong clinical training and experience with providing evidence-based treatments for mental and behavioral health disorders, including substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorders, mood disorders and anxiety disorders
  • Excellent writer with demonstrated writing experience, passionate about writing on clinical topics
  • 3+ years of experience with a range of evidence-based practices for adults (e.g., CBT, ACT, interpersonal therapy, short-term psychodynamic therapy) is preferred
  • Experience working with and adapting interventions for minoritized populations (including, but not limited to, LGBTQ populations) is preferred
  • Experience providing evidence-based practices for adolescents and/or children is a plus
  • Experience with creating clinical materials for and training providers to deliver psychotherapeutic interventions is a plus
  • Able to think outside the box to create accessible mental health solutions
  • Comfortable with technology 
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment - we move quickly to develop and evaluate clinical programs thus we seek people who are comfortable with constant change, feedback, and improvement
  • Independent, open-minded, non-judgmental, compassionate and flexible
  • Functions well in cross-functional contexts (collaborative)
