We’re hiring for a brand designer to join our brand design team! This person will work closely with the brand design lead and will be responsible for concepting and executing artwork for internal and external MongoDB applications. It is essential for this person to be able to uphold our brand with stakeholders and team members. As a member of this team, you will work closely with the brand design lead and frequently collaborate with the greater design team to develop new assets, conceptualization and work with cross-functional teams to provide design expertise on major projects.

Brand designer expectations:

• Deadline-driven with effective time management skills
• Demonstrates initiative with workload and strong communication skills with team and stakeholders
• Must be highly organized with presentations, Figma files, and Dropbox folders
• Support brand design lead on large projects like first-party events, campaigns and marketing initiatives, and collaborate with peers and the design lead on concepting for large initiatives
• Comfortable working within a hybrid team (remote/various locations)

Must haves:

• This role requires strong application of graphic design principles
• Skilled in using Adobe Creative Suite & Figma
• Brand design acumen and ability to experiment with unique designs within the visual brand framework, but ensures work is always aligned to brand guidelines
• The ability to show and explain ideas and concepts through presentations and moodboards and articulates solid rationale that also includes product, business and industry knowledge and best practices
• Comfortable taking on medium to large-scale projects involving multiple teams and requests and notices opportunities to augment projects without being asked
• An open mind to learn, collaborate and educate others
• Sees opportunities for inclusive design and creates a plan to address them to substantially improve design and/or design processes

Plus:

• Understand the importance of preparing for and organizing meetings
• High problem solving skills
• An interest or curiosity in collaborating with the animation process
