About the Role
We are looking for a B2B marketing leader who will focus on growing our business. In this role, you won’t be solving marketing problems - you’ll be solving high-impact business problems (like how to disrupt legacy players with 80% market share) by leveraging marketing strategies, plans and tactics to address the growth opportunity in front of us. You’ll be responsible for everything from refining our value prop with the R&D team, to developing product positioning based on our products’ differentiating factors, the market and the competitive landscape, to launching our messaging, campaigns and incentives in-market to grow top-of-funnel demand (MQLs), optimize nurture flows (grow SQLs) and work closely with sales and other enabling functions to deliver on our aggressive closed deal targets. You will have ownership of the entire marketing funnel and influence over the sales funnel and our product development prioritization and sequence.
What you’ll do day to day:
- Quarterback a cross-functional team of R&D, sales, and marketers to scale the sales engine for Wealthsimple for Business and 2x our deal pipeline in your first 6 months in-role.
- Lead all W4B go-to-market initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders as we build positioning into marketing materials across all touchpoints, develop and align with product and sales leadership on KPIs and targets, ensure our data teams are set up to track the success of our launch and growth efforts, synthesize results and learn and pivot as necessary to make sure we’re hitting our goals.
- Work with internal teams and external partners (creative agencies and marketer freelancers) to establish awareness and build familiarity and consideration of the W4B offering by delivering a resonant, clear and consistent message to the market amongst amongst our buyer, partner, customer and industry audience groups to grow MQLs.
- Nurture MQLs via content marketing, lifecycle marketing and sales enablement to funnel active buyers into our sales process to grow SQLs.
- Proactively experiment with campaigns and incentives to influence step-function growth in MQLs, SQLs and closed/won deals. Lead new experiments by designing, executing and track results for new experiments aimed at suggesting ways to level up our fundamental product and marketing operations.
- Partnering with our communications team in strategic narrative building with the industry audience, secure top industry-relevant speaking opportunities and build compelling, thought-leadership narratives for these events
- Work closely with the Wealthsimple executive team to grow W4B by equipping them with the narrative, insights and data required to build interest and purchase intent with the top 100 Accounts
- Develop and execute client research initiatives, and dive into our internal data to find patterns and growth opportunities, and then champion those learnings across relevant teams to drive action. Become the voice of our W4B clients and trusted advisor to inform product positioning, brand differentiation, content creation and external communications. Play an active role in product development cycles advocating for client needs and being accountable for delivering on the key client insights.
- Build a deep understanding of the market and ecosystem (including clients, competitors, policymakers, news media, and the government) and become the company’s Go To for GRSP insights.
- Be creative - we are constantly entering new parts of the market, pitching new solutions, and developing new programs. We are looking for individuals who are excited to try new things and help us scale.
About you:
- 7+ years of experience in B2B marketing with experience in technology organizations that have experienced hyper-growth.
- You have experience in the finance, investing or insurance industry - either at a fintech or a more traditional player.
- You’re a great cross-functional leader and collaborator who brings out the best in others, enabling them to do their most impactful work.
- You have a demonstrated track record of defining, optimizing, executing and delivering outsized P&L-level results across B2B marketing funnels.
- You are comfortable diving into market and client behaviour data to find pockets of demand and growth, and manage campaign results to assess impact and incrementality, as well as make recommendations as to how these results should shape future actions.
- You are capable of managing interdepartmental relationships, ensuring that all stakeholders are working off the latest context, that their questions are answered quickly, and that they are delivering on their plans on time and in a coordinated fashion across channels.
- You are detail oriented, ensuring that all marketing materials produced (by yourself and by others) are accurate and aligned with the overall positioning of the product.
- You bring qualitative analytical abilities and are familiar with A/B testing
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment with a bias towards action
- You go above and beyond to seek out growth opportunities for the business, for your discipline, and for yourself
- You are a challenger. You don’t take things at face value and questions status-quo assumptions like “well, we’ve always done it this way” or “someone is doing it this way, so…” because you're constantly looking to optimize and level up both the business and those around you
- You have a growth mindset and default to “Challenge or problem? Good. Let me find an opportunity to solve it”
