Associate User Researcher

ABOUT THE ROLE

Peloton is seeking an User Research Associate to support the innovation, iteration, and optimization of our digital presence and ecommerce store. With the support of the User Research team, this User Research Associate will collaborate with Research, Product and Design teams to enhance the quality of the web acquisition experience in meaningful and valuable ways. They will use qualitative and/or quantitative research to strategize and improve features and experiences developed by the web acquisition and membership teams. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about user research, has subject matter expertise in the field and can lead multi-phased research studies across various acquisition workstreams. 

Outside of prior user research expertise, success in this role is dependent on being highly self-motivated, super organized, open to feedback, a great presenter, and collaborative. 

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

• Support researchers in moderate to high complexity projects; may lead low complexity/small scope projects with support
• Take direction from other researchers in completing short- and long-term research plans; may engage in planning individual low complexity roadmaps
• Develop and maintain effective research partnerships, primarily by supporting research execution and receiving research mentorship; engage in cross functional partnerships with support and guidance from research partners
• Support lead researchers, product managers, and UX designers to understand Product and UX “questions to be answered” and manage expectations about methodology, timeline, and scope to investigate those questions
• Conduct hands-on qualitative and/or quantitative research using a limited range of tools and approaches in order to gain mastery (e.g. interviews, ethnography, card sorting, surveys), primarily to address tactical research questions and produce new insights
• Collaborate with research coordinators in sourcing and research logistics; play a direct role in research coordination in lieu of research coordinator as needed
• With support, compile and present findings and recommendations for small and moderate complexity projects to the relevant partners in a clear and concrete way
• For low complexity projects, own driving forward actionable insights to inform product improvements and the some strategic changes to the product roadmap; provide support for moderate and high complexity projects
• Document and track research findings so insights can easily be referenced and applied for future projects

WHAT YOU BRING TO PELOTON

• Familiar with basic usability testing and other primary research methods, but still learning and developing mastery of at least one
• 1+ years of User Research and Testing experience and/or 2-4 years of research coordination experience
• Analyze and synthesize basic data with guidance, and report it in a concise and concrete way
• Support research processes and develop coordination processes to organize work across the research team
• Strong problem solving skills; quantitative and analytical skills still developing
• Learning remote and in person user research methodologies
• Communicate effectively; developing effective storytelling skills
• Eager to learn
• Thrive on managing multiple priorities and completing projects
• Open to learning new methodologies and tools
• Work collaboratively in a team environment
