Visual Designer

About the opportunity

We are currently looking for a talented visual designer to help lead a newly developing creative team at Contentful. The ideal candidate will have both agency and in-house experience, building out corporate branding work for technology companies.

What to expect?

• Concept, develop, and deliver various brand artifacts across a variety of mediums; print, web, digital, presentations, photography, illustration, color development, typography usages, video, animation, etc.
• Work closely with the Senior Art Director to deliver on-brand, high quality content and assets across digital ads, print ads, event collateral, web pages, webinars, ebooks, whitepapers, social assets and more.
• Create branded internal assets and tools for stakeholders to use across the company (ie. deck templates, presentation backgrounds, employee swag, etc)
• Attend strategic and tactical meetings to develop creative strategies with clarity
• Research and uncover new ways to incorporate emerging and new media formats into daily work and campaigns with trends, technologies, and best practices
• Inspire and motivate creative team members daily to be diligent, progressive, and inventive
• Execute and communicate design work daily through Slack, email, and Asana
• Support and contribute to Brand guidelines and Brand led projects
• Collaborate with Writers, UX/UI Designers, Art Director and other creative positions in a constructive and positive manner that represents our core company values
• Communicate and work cross-functionally with the Content team, campaign leaders, Events managers, and other stakeholders throughout the company
• Partner with third-party creative agencies to deliver both strategic and production related design assets
• Occasional travel to Contenful’s hub in Denver may be required

What you need to be successful?

• 2+ years in similar role, leading teams of experienced designers within a similar marketing setting
• 4+ years professional design experience
• A portfolio of well executed, impactful brand projects that you have worked on from start to finish
• Hands-on working design skills in addition to experience directing larger multidisciplinary design teams 
• A strong background in graphic design, typography, illustration, storytelling, motion, video and similar disciplines
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities alongside team members to hit competing deadlines
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback to move the team and their work forward
• Comprehensive working knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite

Colorado Salary Statement: The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in the state of Colorado if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.

Colorado Salary Range: $101,000 - $106,000
