About the Role:
Reporting to the GM of our Venture business, the Head of Product Operations leads the financial service and operations teams that combine with software to superpower the AngelList Venture platform.
In this role, you’ll lead the teams that coordinate investment, portfolio and fund operations, as well as financial reporting and tax—all for the world’s largest portfolio of private investments, while aligning everyday work to business outcomes. In parallel, you will focus on productizing operational workflows to help achieve our vision of superpowering Venture though software.
This is a generational undertaking, looking for a generational leader!
More specifically, you will:
- Recruit, grow and develop the high-performance teams that design and deliver world-class offerings to GPs & LPs.
- Instill a software and systems-first approach to delivering a full stack of financial services.
- Serve as a cross-functional leader: working with software engineering, design, operations, tax, legal and other functional teams to drive continued innovation and development in our funder offerings.
- Own top-level goals for performance metrics and offering development across your teams.
- Cultivate and model a deep understanding of our product offerings, industry and mission.
Additional characteristics of the ideal candidate include:
- 10+ years experience as an operator and leader, including both high-growth technology and financial services contexts.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High EQ and systems-analytic skills. Ideal candidates will have the ability to effectively bridge the need to lead and build relationships at a high level and to work effectively with teams driving internal software and operational outcomes.
- Strong basis in core financial concepts that relate to private investments. To effectively lead this team you will need a sound understanding of how venture funds work, as well as the perspectives and interests of our core customer sets (GPs, LPs, and their service providers).
- Comfort operating in a highly analytic, written culture.
- Motivated by our mission of enabling a new generation of fund managers to support founders in increasing the rate of innovation in the world.
