About the job
As a designer you will help shape the Insights and Alerting product experience for many of Twilio’s customers. You will help design a scalable and intuitive platform that internal teams can adopt to build additional analytics products for Twilio customers.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Engage with our users and product partners to understand customer needs, design products and workflows to unlock elegant solutions. Articulate the customer problem and success metrics, and gain alignment with stakeholders on your approach to testing, learning, and iterating on a solution.
- Own and advance the vision for Twilio’s central data products, across multiple product lines. Take personal accountability for achievement of goals and results, and coach members to ensure goals are met.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering teams, in an agile environment, to solve the most important customer problems effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other Product Designers, providing accurate, constructive, and motivating guidance that helps improve their skills, and the outcome of their work. Lead Design Critiques that ensure consistency across Twilio products and uplevel our standards. Advocate for more efficient processes and higher standards across the UX organization.
- Remain open, transparent, and inclusive while sharing work at various stages of the process, proactively inviting diverse (and potentially contrary) inputs in your design process, and remaining humble while asking for and providing useful and constructive feedback to peers of all levels.

Required:
- Has a proven user-centered design workflow that comprises: research, design, prototyping, presentation and workshopping, sharing and soliciting feedback, user testing, influencing key decision making, and collaborating with product and developers.
- Can share a portfolio with beautiful, usable, straightforward, and lovable designs that demonstrate technical product thinking and an understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
- Is data driven in their approach and is proficient in running quantitative and qualitative research, such as usability testing, analysis, interviews, and field studies.
- Has a deep desire to constantly learn and improve, and holds a passion for giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Has experience designing and evolving web-based experiences and complex application software in a fast-paced environment, an ideal candidate has experience working with API first products.
- Has experience in designing complex systems that scale, operating models and consistent design tooling across matrixed teams designers, engineers, and product managers.
- Can make informed decisions amid ambiguous situations while considering the goals, constraints, and risks.
- Readily applies design thinking methodologies to drive alignment across different teams and partners.
- Can build in an iterative fashion at a platform level while balancing and prioritizing varying needs across stakeholders and accurately advocating for the end user requirements
- Has 5+ years of industry experience and a related degree or equivalent experience in UX, Design, HCI, Information Management, Psychology, or Anthropology.
Desired:
- Specify education, previous job experience, certifications, technical skills and soft skills required.
- Familiarity with prototyping/mocking tools like Figma
- Experience using a design system for building products
- Experience designing advanced data visualizations and/or dashboard tools
- Experience defining success metrics for products
- A demonstrated history of successfully mentoring and coaching team members.
- Experience designing advanced data visualizations and/or dashboard tools is a plus.
Location
This role will be remote, and based in the West Coast, USA or Canada.
Approximately 5% travel is anticipated.
