We are looking for a User Researcher to run research projects both on the freelancer and client side, and to coach and empower Product Designers and Product Managers regarding User Research.
As our second User Researcher, you will be joining the Product Design team, reporting to Caroline, our Lead User Research and Lead Design Ops. You will be working closely with the Product Managers, Product Designers, Data Analysts, and Engineers of the 10 squads of the Malt Product Team.
Key responsibilities ✨
- Work closely with the Lead User Researcher to define the User Research Strategy in order to scale User Research at Malt.
- Work closely with product managers, product designers, and product data analysts to identify and prioritize research needs.
- Plan and conduct the appropriate research studies (from exploratory to evaluative research methods).
- Empower and coach the Product Managers and Product Designers on their User Research projects in order to scale your impact.
- Collaborate with Product, Data, and customer-facing teams to collect and adequately activate user feedback across the product-building process.
- Encourage an empathic mindset and advocate for a user-centered approach to product development while balancing business needs.
About you 🧑🚀
- You have 2-3+ years of experience in User Research, preferably in tech companies and/or design agencies
- You have a great background in qualitative research methods such as user interviews, usability tests, observations, and surveys.
- You speak English and French fluently (additional languages are a bonus!) and have excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to synthesize and communicate ideas.
- You want to participate in all aspects of hands-on research such as planning, recruiting, analysis, and collaboration with design and product teams.
- You like to teach User Research and coach Product Managers and Designers to increase their autonomy regarding User Research.
- You are excited by the challenge of scaling User Research in a fast-paced scale-up and shaping how people will work in the future!

- First call with Neige, our Senior Talent Acquisition Manager, to better understand your background, aspirations and answer any questions you may have (45 minutes)
- Interview with your future manager, Caroline, to delve into your experience and the specifics of the role. (60 minutes)
- Home assignment for you to complete in one week, after which we will schedule a follow-up discussion with members of the Product teams to explore your work.
- Final interview with Belen, our Chief Product Officer, to discuss Malt’s long-term vision
