Our award-winning culture is built on core values that drive everything we do, including putting people first. We know experience comes in many different forms, some visible on your resume, others not. No one candidate will be a 100% perfect match to our description, so if you thrive in a fast-paced, intellectually-charged environment and have similar experience to what we are looking for, we encourage you to apply.

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff UX Researcher to join our team; you will play a critical role in shaping the user experience vision for our organization. You’ll lead and manage research projects, develop research strategies and methodologies, and provide insights and recommendations to improve the user experience of our products and services. We believe that research findings are most powerful when they break the boundaries of written reports, and are actively applied and used by product teams.

With your expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods, you will mentor and coach earlier career researchers, collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, and drive the integration of user-centered principles into our product development process. We are looking for a passionate, collaborative, and tenacious person who is committed to putting the needs of our users at the forefront of everything we do.

Our research team is close-knit, collaborative, and supportive. We each bring unique strengths and interests to the group, and encourage each other to grow in our craft every day.

Here are a few of the things you will do as a HoneyBook UX Researcher:

  • Lead and manage research projects from end-to-end, including planning, design, execution, analysis, and delivery of findings to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement research strategies and methodologies that align with business goals and user needs.
  • Synthesize and analyze research data to generate insights that accurately represent participants' perspectives and experiences, and inform product decisions.
  • Develop and present research reports and presentations to various audiences, including executive leadership, product teams, and other stakeholders, that are engaging, relevant, and actionable.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers on the team, fostering growth and development in research skills and methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, product, marketing, analytics, support, and customer success, to drive user-centered design and innovation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advances in research methodologies, and incorporate new techniques and tools into research practice.
  • Champion the importance of user research within the organization, advocating for user-centered design and driving organizational change.

Here is what we’re looking for in a candidate:

  • An expert-level understanding and experience in using a range of research methods, including usability testing, user interviews, surveys, card sorts, tree testing, journey mapping, and competitor analysis, to drive user-centered product design and development.
  • Experience in synthesizing and effectively communicating research findings to cross-functional teams operating in a fast-paced environment, with a demonstrated ability to clearly define and passionately advocate for users' needs.
  • Proven track record of translating user insights into actionable product recommendations that have driven business impact and improved user experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the product creation cycle and design process, with experience collaborating closely with Design and Product teams to integrate user-centered principles into the product development process.
  • A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with emerging research methods and techniques, as well as evangelizing their value to team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity, with a proven ability to synthesize and communicate findings effectively to cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.

Here is what is needed:

  • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication skills to effectively share study plans, findings, and insights with creativity and persuasion.
  • Proven track record of executing both qualitative and quantitative user research methods and demonstrating the impact of research on improving the customer or user experience.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to collaborate with remote teammates and customers across different time zones and occasional travel to meet them in person.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in conducting end-to-end UX research projects.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in interaction design, psychology, human factors, or related subject area is preferred.

Here is what is needed:

  • Strong written, visual and verbal storytelling and communication skills that allow you to illustrate and share study plans, findings and insights creatively and persuasively.
  • A portfolio of work samples showing how you have executed qualitative and quantitative user research methods, and demonstrating the impact of your research on the customer or user experience.
  • The ability to think strategically and solve problems.
  • The flexibility to meet remotely with teammates and customers in different time zones, and occasionally travel to meet them in person.
  • Between 3 and 5 years of hands-on experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative end-to-end UX research projects.
  • University degree in interaction design, psychology, human factors or a related subject area is a plus.
