We're Checkout.com

Checkout.com is one of the most exciting fintechs in the world. Our mission is to enable businesses and their communities to thrive in the digital economy. We’re the strategic payments partner for some of the best known fast-moving brands globally such as Wise, Hut Group, Sony Electronics, Homebase, Henkel, Binance, Klarna and many others. Purpose-built with performance and scalability in mind, our flexible cloud-based payments platform helps global enterprises launch new products and create experiences customers love. And it's not just what we build that makes us different. It's how.

We empower passionate problem-solvers to collaborate, innovate and do their best work. That’s why we’re number 9 on the Forbes Cloud 100 list and on Glassdoor’s list of Top 10 fintechs to work for. And we’re just getting started. We’re building diverse and inclusive teams around the world — because that’s how we create even better experiences for our merchants and our partners. And we need your help. So, join us to build tomorrow, today.

As our value grows, so does our need for extraordinary people. UX Researchers at Checkout.com help build the next generation of financial products and online payment solutions by connecting our team with nuanced, actionable, and high-quality insights from our users. Reporting directly to the Head of UX Research, you’ll partner with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, Marketeers, Researchers, and others to deliver insight on a rich variety of projects. Your work will center on leveraging research findings to conceptualize products, refining experiences for our users, and influencing product roadmaps. You’ll challenge the team (constructively!) to make data-driven decisions and keep the user in focus.

You’ll have experience in a variety of industry-standard UX research methods, likely with particular strengths in specific methods. You’ll be a confident presenter and experienced user advocate, with experience guiding cross-functional teams to leverage user insights in the product development process. Over time, you’ll be a strategic partner to key decision makers, helping to shape Checkout.com’s vision for product development.

The Team

We are a cross-functional team of over 30 people across UX Research, Product Design, Content Design and Design Operations. We work in partnership with our Product, Engineering and Brand Design teams. We operate in a hybrid working model, with two days in the office per week.

About you:

  • You think in systems: you can see the big picture and how your work fits in
  • You put users at the heart of your work and understand the value of bringing the voice of the user to product development
  • You value strong working relationships and feedback
  • You’re accountable, always reach for better, and build trust
  • You place quality over speed, but you iterate and improve as swiftly as possible
  • You're self-motivated and can work independently – we’ll trust you to take the initiative
  • You love learning – you’re not the finished package, but you have ideas on how to get there
  • You can show and tell us how you've helped the people around you get better
  • You navigate uncertainty with grace, openness, and a willingness to learn

We'd like to see

  • Applied UX research experience in the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business space, online payments space, and/or experience conducting research in a B2B user ecosystem
  • A background in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Data Science or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience
  • A strong working knowledge of user research methods, including when and how to apply different methods in various scenarios. Experience crafting research proposals, collecting data, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data, and communicating insights to cross-functional product development teams
  • Passion for understanding your users and bringing their voices into the design and development process
  • Experience with research operations functions, including participant recruitment, tooling, legal guidelines for research, and related topics.
  • Experience partnering with analytics teams to integrating user research findings and product usage data to better understand the full picture of a user’s experience
