Staff Product Designer - Design System

We’re looking for our first dedicated Design Systems designer to help us maintain quality and consistently across all our products. This is a unique opportunity to establish and grow the team from scratch. You will help us make sure we not only establish a clear and easy to use system with buy-in from designers and engineers alike, but also maintain and evolve this system based on the changing needs of the product and business.

What you’ll do

You’ll help formalize, scale, and evangelize our design system, Fanatic. As part of this process you’ll collaborate with product designers, engineers, and our creative design team to:

• Help us maintain a set of reusable components that allow us to develop features in a fraction of the time it would take compared to if we had to start from scratch each time.
• Establish guidelines to help us provide a consistent, cohesive, and high quality experience across all platforms.
• Work closely with designers and engineers to understand current design system pain points and opportunities.
• Create a process for deciding when to add, evolve, or deprecate components from our design system, and doing so in a way that ensures buy-in across the team.
• Clearly communicate design system plans and updates with all relevant stakeholders.
• Evangelize the design system to drive Fanatic adoption across the organization.

Who you are

• You have 8+ years of product design experience.
• You have 3+ years of experience working on a design system at scale.
• You get just as excited about defining the problem as you do about exploring solutions.
• You value lifelong learning and are always looking for new ways to learn and grow.
