You will partner with the Pricing Product Manager at Databricks to define key product pricing and go-to-market strategies for Databricks products. You'll be operating in a high paced environment with passionate people intent on delivering valuable products. There will be resource conflicts, prioritization conflicts, and other tradeoffs that you will drive to a conclusion, sometimes in an urgent manner. Working closely with other Product Managers, Engineering, Product Marketing, Sales Operations, Finance, and Legal, this is a highly visible role with excellent growth potential.

The impact you will have:

  • Partner with the Pricing Product Manager to establish the pricing and to-go-market strategy for new business initiatives and new product offerings.
  • Own the technical modeling of pricing & costing analytics to optimize product adoption and monetization for new business models.
  • Design and execute quantitative pricing, sales team and customer research, including win/loss analysis, sales team pricing and discounting behavior and competitive price-performance analysis.
  • Identify new packaging and bundling opportunities to simplify sales motion, increase sales productivity and market penetration.
  • Perform ongoing pricing and costing analysis; segment by relevant geographic, customer and deal factors to evaluate performance, approval patterns and support new deal review.

What we look for:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the enterprise technology industry.
  • Experience establishing and delivering pricing that fits into company strategy.
  • Experience with business models, financial metrics, and analyzing opportunity cost.
  • Ability to perform advanced statistical analysis, mixed-method data collection and analysis, and apply group-based research methods such as cluster analysis and conjoint studies.
  • Experience working with SQL, relational data and common BI tools.
  • Can communicate with audiences of varying roles and levels, from CxOs to software engineers.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilities in the face of ambiguity.
  • Listen well. You build consensus by default, but can drive hard decisions when you have to. You push the pace. You take the blame and pass on praise.
  • Entrepreneurial, "can do" attitude, ability and willingness to make an impact in a start-up organization.

Bonus:

  • Experience working with Apache Spark, ETL, or data warehousing products
  • MBA from a top program
